Megabass - 2 Questions
Don't pay attention to the weight, they balance great. Better than many 4 and 5 ounce rods I'd guess.

Megabass - 2 Questions
Last February they had a Shimano sale during the bassmaster classic. If I remember correctly it was for Shimano, Jackall, and G Loomis products. No Megabass. Unfortunately they never go on sale anywhere. Megabass policy.

Whiskeytown Lake
I've seen the lake while driving over it, the water looks super clear. I'm guessing finesse techniques are important.

Your "go To" Drop Shot Bait?
I'd stick to those roboworms. As you can see, they're very popular and for good reason.

Best Dx For 3/4 Ounce Footballs?
Yep, don't think that's what I want. I'm pretty sure on the 745. I've heard so much great stuff about it. Btw I'll be fishing in 20-40 fow.

Best Dx For 3/4 Ounce Footballs?
Also wish they would come out with that zayta!!! Heard there would be a 755, might be what I'm looking for. I've been hearing about them for a couple years now. But that's for another thread.

Best Dx For 3/4 Ounce Footballs?
great thanks! I'm leaning towards the 745, although I'd probably like just a little more length for deep water fishing. That's why I suggested the 795, but it doesn't sound ideal. I think a 785ml would be perfect! Wish dobyns would make one.

- Best Dx For 3/4 Ounce Footballs?
I was thinking the 745 or 795, but if the 744 works for you, I'll check it out. Thanks!- Best Dx For 3/4 Ounce Footballs?
What is your favorite Dobyns Champion Extreme for 3/4 ounce football jigs?- Inexpensive Reels
+1- Cross-Country Road Trip!
I have a little experience with some of the western states you mentioned (California, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico). I live in California. The fishing can be pretty tough in Arizona and especially NM. I personally think Colorado and Utah have better fishing but that's based on my limited experience. However the bass fishing at Roosevelt lake in Arizona and Navajo lake in New Mexico can be great for largemouth and smallmouth. In Cali the fishing at Clear Lake, Berryessa, New Melones, and the Delta can be awesome. Each about 3 hours from San Jose.- How Far Can You Throw A 8" Hudd?
To add to what everyone has said, the mojo bass 7'9" HF is a little light for huddlestons. You could get a lot more distance with a longer heavier, rod about 8' or longer and rated to 8 ounces or so. A lot of guys even recommend the Dobyns 867 which is 8'6" and rated 4-16 ounces. You get the idea. Like someone said, watch some * videos. All kinds of great info about swimbaits on there.- New Frog/flipping Rod Recommendations
Perfect. Like dtack mentioned a 7'6" flippin rod would be great. That carbonlite 7'6" h xf should work fine. Or savvy if you want to spend a little more.- New Frog/flipping Rod Recommendations
I like a longer rod for punching (7'6"+) and a shorter rod for frogging (7'3"-). A fast or x-fast action rod around 7'6" would probably suit you the best, it's definitely important to have a long rod especially if your flipping/punching. It will be a little long for a frog rod but doable especially if you're in a boat or are relatively tall.- Aaron Martens Edge Rods
Ya I guess I can sort of understand that. Although if I had as much money as him I'd probably spend it on megabass rods anyways lol.- Aaron Martens Edge Rods
Ya, I'm not knocking it before I try it just because of the appearance. Could be a good rod. But they'd be much better IMHO to at least go with an unpainted blank, ugh. - Best Dx For 3/4 Ounce Footballs?
