Spinning Rod "reeling Hand"
I'm right handed and use right handed casting reels and left handed spinning reels. That's the way I learned.

Hmm... I wonder which one I'll be buying.

My New Fishing Dog.
You won't be disappointed. Border collies are great. Their personalities are probably the closest to humans I've seen in dogs. I'd say the biggest difference between golden retrievers and border collies is border collies can be pretty intense and golden retrievers are generally more laid back. There's definitely exceptions though. While our female is very intense and loves working, our male is one of the laziest dogs I've ever seen, he sleeps and lays around 24/7 and he's only 3 years old!

Best Way To Hold A Spinning Rod?
Interesting. Made me think of something. Wouldn't holding the rod with 4 fingers in front make it feel better balanced?

Good point

Least Versatile Lure?
Agreed. In fact I've never caught a fish on a spinnerbait in california!

Square Bill Rod
Whoops, just read your first post. Didn't know you were fishing laysdowns and riprap.

Square Bill Rod
I like something a touch faster, like a mod-fast or even a fast because I fish squarebills around grass and the faster action helps to "rip" them free when they get snagged, like a lipless crank

Citica I
Idk. I think I'd rather just spend the extra $30 on the curado...

Best Way To Hold A Spinning Rod?
My brother holds it that way too. I find that way almost just as comfortable but I feel like I get way more leverage putting all fingers in front. Guys who put only one finger in front like bama bass are the worst lol. It looks like the rod is going to get ripped out of their hand every time they get a bass!

Best Way To Hold A Spinning Rod?
How do you guys hold your spinning rods? I put all my fingers in front of the reel to get more leverage. I've seen guys hold it with only one finger in front. How do you hold it? All fingers in front of the reel, three, two, or one?

Best Crankbait Knot?
I tie directly to the split ring with a palomar or 6 turn San Diego jam knot.

As far as reels go, if its made in japan, I'm happy.

G Loomis Nrx 822S?
Interesting. I've also have heard good things about the 852s. What do you consider a light shakeyhead?
-
G Loomis Nrx 822S?
I read something on another forum as well from Lucky Craft Man about that. I think it was the 822 SYR. Said he was underwhelmed by the sensitivity compared to to other NRX models or something like that.

Least Versatile Lure?
Another vote for the buzzbait. Actually you can't really change the speed much either, seems like with most buzzbaits I have to reel pretty fast for it to run right and be effective.

G Loomis Nrx 822S?
Well I'm finally ready to buy my first NRX. I'm looking for a spinning model and the 822s dsr has caught my eye. Obviously I'll be using it for dropshotting 3/16-1/4 ounce, but I'd also like to use it for shakeyheads and tubes in the same weight range. Does it have enough power for a 3/16 oz shakeyhead or 1/4 oz tube? I mean I know that's at the bottom of the lure rating for this rod... What do you think? Is there another model I'll be better off with? No non-NRX suggestions please Thanks
