Looking to get a new baitcaster, what reel do you guys feel is the best in this budget.

What are your guys favorite brands and types of jigs to use?

Anybody tried either of the G. Loomis frog rods? How do they stack up against something like a dobyns 735/736?

Somewhere around $250

What about reels? I've seen where people say that lower gear ratios are better for frogging?

South Alabama; Just north of Orange beach. I mainly fish in lakes and rivers around here.

I'll probally go for the white ice. The bass pro here has a couple that I picked up in the store and I really liked the way they felt. I cant seem to find anywhere that carries Dobyns around here, I would love to be able to pick one up in person and feel it.

I'm eyeing a 7'7" Heavy Duckett Ice, what do you guys think.

Which of these lines do you guys like better and in which applications are they best suited for?

Whelp, I pulled the trigger and ordered a Lews Tournament Reel and Powell Inferno rod. Really excited to get them!

I'm about to buy my first baitcaster setup; I've used spinning rods all my life and decided to get one and try it out. Thinking about - Lews Tournament Speed Spool 6:4:1 - Powell Inferno Casting Rod 7' Med Hvy It's mainly going to be used for spinnerbaits, cranks, and texas rigs. Any thoughts on the combo and wether I should change it?
