  1. Hi, I am new to the forum. I know different rods have different purposes and many anglers carry multiple rods with them but I don't have a boat. I do my largemouth bass fishing mostly from the shore and I only want to carry one rod. I do own others. My fishing style is mostly pitch-casting plastic worms, jigs and other finesse baits (<1/4 - 5/8 oz lures). Occasionally I will flip-cast a jig or worm if I need to. I will rarely use spinning baits or top water lures but if the worms or jigs fail me I will give them a try. I am 5' 9" and I don't like fishing with a 7.5 foot rod. I currently use a 6 foot rod but feel a 6.5' or 7' will give me greater casting distance. My current rod is old and am looking to make an nice upgrade. The wife gave me a new Shimano Core 50mg7 and I am looking for a very nice rod to go with it. I fish with 12# mono. Don't care for braid. I've fished bait casting rods for over 25 years but haven't bought a new rod in a while so I am a bit dated on where to look these days. I'd like a rod with very high sensitivity. I don't care for the split handles; prefer full cork. My budget is in the $400 range. Can anyone provide a single presentation rod recommendations with action and power suggestions? Thank you Dan
