12'' bass are not legal to harvest in my area. The min is 18''. And the bow fishers usually toss the carp on the shore and leave. Sorry to offend anyone.

There is no wrong way to fish any bait if its getting you a bite.

What about the guy who runs this site. Is he a pro? He has a good attitude and seems real laid back.

I often see people take illegal(undersized) fish from the water. People fishing with too many poles. Taking way too many fish. How much meat is on a 12 inch bass. Or the worst bow fishing for gar and carp just for the sake of killing something. If any conservation agents are reading this it happens in North saint Louis county, Mo everyday.

Do most people dread summer fishing? Most of the articles on this website lead me to believe that summer is the worst time for fishing. I have the opposite opinion. I live in Missouri and I love hot weather, mid-day fishing. I catch more and bigger bass in the summer during mid-day than any other time of the year. Now Opine.

I caught 3 in one day while river fishing for catfish and rough fish. I cut the line. I didn't want to hurt them any more. I had no idea what to do. That day I was using 4/0 hooks thinking the turtles wouldn't take it. It made me sad. I don't even like to kill bugs. Guess turtles like nightcrawlers.

I hear yellow power bait is the tops.

I catch them on Night Crawlers sometimes. Most of time they just steal the bait. People fly fish with the nylon rope method.

3.5 lbr on a fast moving spinner-bait.

I have a triumph and its Okay. I should have gotten something else for the cost. Have you tried Falcon rods?

I take a list and try to stick to it. There are way too many choices and distractions. Impulse buying at its finest. Fishermen grab the baits about like a bass.

I am wanting to fish for smallmouth in the local Rivers in Missouri. Wanting to go to the Big river or the Big Piney river. I have read that the piney is clear and I know the Big is murky. Please fill me in on good baits to use and/or techniques/strategy.

Oh yeah. Not a lot but they work good. And probably under utilized. Size 3 is pretty good. They work well at sunset in the summer. I use a very fast retrieve and keep them as high as I can in the water column.

Its good to challenge your self and search out new species. Once in a while I like to catch carp and drum from the river. Carp get big and put up a tremendous fight. Trout and Small mouths are amazing fighters as well. Good luck.

If fish a small lake at a park where there is always loud bass driven music playing. Loud enough that you can hear it on all sides of the lake. The lake shore is appx. 1.2 miles. I have noticed on days when the music is loud that it gets harder to catch fish. Is it possible that the fish are seeking shelter from the noise?
