Perhaps I read too many sites and too many different magazines but I feel like I am always coming across advice on "What to throw", "What not to throw", "What colors to use", "The only bait you'll need in the summer", etc. As a novice, I just wanted to see what people thought. I am here to learn.

Would I be crazy to try both this weekend in NE PA? Thanks!

In Montgomery County. The Nock is tough (in my experience). Whereabouts do you live? I've fished Nockamixon from the fishing pier. Have a small Porta-Bote now so may have to give it a try again. Sure would be fun to hook into one of those stripers.

Hey gang, New fisherman and new to the forums. Curious to try a Carolina rig this weekend. Using a medium action rod, fishing in Eastern PA, temp looks to be about 88. Would love some advice on sinker weight, hook size and a good bait to try. Any beginner tips in fishing the rig? Let it rest on the bottom? Twitch?
