  1. The dropshot rig is a useful rig that is best used in cold water but can also be used wen the fish are slow or picky its a good rig after a cold front comes threw as well. It is a finesse rig so i wold recamend a spining rod that is 7ft long and meddium action with a fast tip and with a pflueger president reel. The rod and reel are a key part to this set up you can have nice long casts if needid and the reel is a over all good reel.Line wise i wold stick in the 2 to 12 lb rage. If your fishing super clear water you want florocarbon as a leader so the fish cant see the line as well. If you just want to save some money just use some mono as backing and about 30ft of florocarbon as the leader. Your dropshot hook will be above your hook anywhere from 5ft to 6ins. My preferd hook is a mustad kvd dropshot hook. I like to use zoom finesse worm,Robo wroms work as well i use zoom worms wacky style on the rig and the robo worms riged reguler. good colers are green pumpkin, smoke, smkoe purple fleck and pink. You want to lightly shake your rod tip to make your worm or whatever your useing barely move, the point of the rig is to jold the bait right in the the fishs face and annoy it.
