  1. Hey guys, New member here. I've owned a few curados and really enjoyed them and had the opportunity to purchase a gently used Calais for a steal. I sent it off to Shimano for a spa-day and it came back cleaned and oiled. This season was my first chance to use it and I'm unsure if I'm using it correctly. The CL200 has the line guide recessed in the frame, as opposed to the newer reels where it's flush, and when I feed my line through the guide it actually has to drop down to exit the reel, causing the line to rub against the frame as it is retrieved. The picture I've attached illustates this point somewhat. As the line exits the guide it rubs against the top of the golden-colored insert of the frame. It makes noise as I retrieve and Im worried it will affect the durability of the line. Any suggestions or is this normal? The reel is not overspooled.
