  1. Thanks for the feedback everyone. The gap isn't that large honestly but maybe just enough to cause the issue. I am going to try and return them and find another style that fits my face better. Thanks!
  2. Hey all! I just got my first pair of Costa Del Mar's and I have to say I'm either disappointed or I have a defective pair. After many positive reviews, I opted for the 580G green/amber lens. The issue I'm having is glare/reflections coming from the inside of the lens almost making the lenses look dirty all the time, although they're not. After trying many styles I settled on the Jose style which is only slightly wider than my face. This small gap appears to be allowing light to enter the lens from the back side and reflect light into my eye. Has anyone else had this issue? Seems odd for such a high quality lens, selling the anti reflective/anti glare properties. Thanks for any insight/experience you can provide!
  3. On the Cablz, does XL refer to the size of the connectors? I have attached a picture of the Jose's that I'll be using them with. Assume I'll need XL as well but can someone confirm? I also see that they sell several lengths (12", 14", 16"). Which size for an average size head? Thanks!
  4. Costa Del Mar Owners, Which Retainer Do You Recommend? I'm specifically looking at the Jose frame model. Thanks!
  5. During mid day on bluebird days, I can usually catch a fish an hour (either on a squarebill or spook fan casting the shaded banks) on my father-in-laws neighborhood lake, but once it hits 5-6pm and temps start to cool down, it's like someone flips a switch and I can't buy a bite for the rest of the day or even night regardless of what lures I try (reaction lures to jigs to seniors) I assume that the bass start to roam more freely as temps drop but can't seem to locate them. On my Deeper fishfinder, I'll occasionally see a fish at 5-6ft deep (suspended 1-3 feet off the bottom) but rarely have any luck catching fish in open water. In the dead of summer, top water evening/night fishing is pretty productive but not at all right now. Is this typical or am I missing something?
  6. My father in law had a stroke recently which severely affected his vision. He loves to fish but can't even see well enough to tie his own lures on now. Even before the stroke he loved fishing with live night crawlers or live bluegill for bass on a bobber or even dead sticking a senko. Now that his vision is impaired, are there any hook types, rigging tricks etc that would make it so the bass basically hook themselves? We won't be able to see well enough to set the hook based on a reaction strike unless he feels it or can see a bobber go under (might try different neon colors or even the light up bobbers for evening/night fishing with him). Thanks for any advice you can provide!
  7. Thanks Ima Bass Ninja! Do you remember the brand name of the product?
  8. Anyone have any experience with using epoxy resin (or anything else) to paint on a sealant coat to the bottom of a polyethylene (pelican's ram-x material) boat if we suspect a pinhole leak? Over the course of a year, my father in law's pelican Bass Raider 10e fills up with water inside the pontoons so we're just wanting to paint something on the bottom to seal any minor leak up. Ideally, we want to use something clear. I came across west system g/flex epoxy but I believe it sets up with a gold tint. I've also read about a reverse leak test (fill the pontoons with water and set the boat on blocks to watch for leaks then just address the leak). Any thoughts or insights? I appreciate it!
  9. I have used it twice to map out a local pond and on really long casts it did lose connection occasionally. Overall the device and app is incredible so I'm still glad I bought it and can't wait to get out and use it some more.
  10. The pontoons were almost half full of water, so not sure that condensation could've caused that but thanks for mentioning it! I'll have to check the plugs, even though they ride out of the water most of the time. Is there any sealer spray or paint type product I can apply just in case there is a pin hole leak?
  11. Hi! I'm looking for a clear coat/leak sealer recommendation for my Pelican bass raider. I must have a small leak because over the course of a year, my Pelican Bass Raider pontoons will fill up with water. Hoping to apply something to the bottom that seals any minor leaks and doesn't have a color (clear). Thanks for any suggestions!
  12. I'm in Kennesaw, GA and looking for a place to see a variety of 10-12' fishing boats in person (Sun Dolphin Pro, Pelican Predator type boats). I've been striking out with Cabelas, Dicks, Academy, West Marine and Bass Pro isn't very close. Are there any other places I should be checking to see these type of boats in person? Thanks!
  13. HELP! My father in law has a Pelican Bass Raider 10e that has a small leak (takes the entire season to be noticeable) but every winter we have to pull it out and drain the pontoons because they're full of water. Looking for any advice on locating and repairing the leak. Thanks!
  14. Hey all! Looking for recommendations for a 10-12 foot pond/small lake boat with some frills (light for night fishing, compartments for storage, rod holders etc, hard cover or something that will last the whole season and keep pinestraw and rain out). My father in law has a 10' Bass Raider 10e but every year by winter the pontoons are filled up with water so he's ready to sell and move up. I'm usually pretty good at researching but I'm striking out trying to find something. I've come across the Sundolphin Pro 120 (which seems ALMOST perfect, just a LITTLE more than we were hoping to spend.) We were hoping to stay at or around $1,200 on the boat (accessories can be added later). Any other boats like the Sundolphin that I should consider? Thanks in advance!
