  1. From my research I kinda know what rod for Shaky head and Football jigs I'm after. Just the following quote I'm not understanding. What's the medium light tip mean. I'm assuming its something along the line of a moderate action rod?
  2. I love my Mitchell reels. I second on the Mitchell advocate. I recently picked up the 300 pro and its a smooth reel for 64 bucks. Its probably to big for what your wanting to use it for.
  3. I don't use Bait casting reels only Spinning.
  4. So I ordered my rod and other things. I went with the Abu Garcia Veritas 7'MH and Sufix 832 20lb camo braid.
  5. Now what rod length?? I got the rod narrowed down just need to decide on length. My current rod is a 6'6" and I'm debating on another 6'6" rod or 7'. The longer the rod the greater the casting distance is and its personal preference too on length. Suggestions?
  6. I usually stay within Rod Lure OZ specifications. I'll probably split the different and go 25lb test. Just some rods I'm looking at. I really like the split handle so something that I'd want with the rod but It wont be the end of the world if I can't get it. It also has to have cork handles ever since I went to cork I can't go back... Bass Pro Shops Bionic Blade XPS Micro Abu Garcia Veritas Daiwa Procyon
  7. Mostly I'll be fishing frogs, Texas rigs and weedless worms. Guess I should have states that in the first post. Some of the lakes I fish have some fairly heveay cover.
  8. I just bought a new reel Mitchell 300 Pro specifically for fishing weed cover. I'm wondering what y'all suggest to spool the reel with Braid or Fluorocarbon? I cant seem to get many straight answers when I use my Google fu. I'm sure this has been asked MILLIONS of times. Anyone have suggestions for a rod? My current rod(on my other reel is 6'6" medium) some people suggest using a lighter rod for braid cause braid has no line give is that true? That doesn't seem like a right combo IMHO. I'm thinking either Medium or Medium Light. Thanks, Caleb
