Wonder what would be heavier in inchs? Length or girth? Seems im short a inch but my girth is a inch bigger. Would ya think a 23x19.25 is bigger then a 24 x 18.3 or reverse?

It was weighed on two different scales. One said 9lbs 14 ounces and the other was 9.89 lbs. I think the fish caculators very. Nothing beats the scales. I know a largie will weigh less then the smallies. Smallies are more solid and also more dense in the fleash. Caught lots around 6,7 and the occasional 8 but this one was a beast. And btw if doubting the 6,7 s check some old posts on here of mine from last year;)

This one is a beast

That PA bear is a smasher. I have this one on trail cam for years None of my clients have been able to harvest it. Our district biologist figures it will exceed well over 800 lbs and will be potential new world record if harvested. Thats a 65 gallon drum behind it mounted 10 high off the ground!!! His nick name is Barrel Crusher cause he use to flatten the top of the steel drum shut so other bears would eat his food. Smart old bear.

G5 strikers..there a fix blade and also are very effective on big game. I have taken big bears, moose and lots of whitetails with them and never had a issue. Great penetration and fly identical to a field point when you make sure you spin test them. I wouldnt shoot anything else and all my clients have switched to them for big game

You will if ya use leeches. When i take clients after true trophy smallies leeches are our go to baits. It always ends with a smile;))

Napabass thats a beauty. Love dark coloured largies. Good job on your fish and handling. Its a trophy regardless of its weight..but its right at the 5lb mark if not more. Good job, hope you get many more this year;))

Well after a deck full of torn plastics i narrowes it down to the best bait. I had best luck drop shotting a xzone pan slammer on a small #4 hook and 4# test line and long bombing. Key here was the proper hieght for pan slammers. Thanks to all for the suggestions.

Ya take a look in the other posts, PB smallies, Big smallmouth or Ontario largies on fire. Plently of pics that 7lbers frequent that wreck. As far as keeping fish within your legal limit id agree If its legal then fill your boots. It boils down to ethics and conservation in the angler and his choices.

Dinky, Webers has great burgers. Thats so fun you mentioned that. Lol. But id save the fuel and wouldnt pass Simcoe up. Its Ontarios #1 smallmouth fishery. No other inland lake in the province can ever compare!! Next time drop a line in the lake. If you need a guide pm me and i will point you in the right direction.

Ya for a person to just drop in and try to locate them is tough id say. The lake is a prop killer and can be dangerous with water conditions. But dont let me discourage you on coming up. If you ever scored on what the lake can produce then itd worth it. Worst comes to worst and ya strike out and have a rough time then just hire a guide. But becareful cause 99% of Lake Simcoe guides are scammer. Your looking for "guaranteed fish" and trophy fish to boot. If your havin trouble if ya come id point ya in the right direction. Trust me i know its always sweeter to find your own fish though. But pounding 5s all day is fun too.

Oh these smalliez are tempermental little basses. Lol. Ya once the see the boat it impossible to get them to go on artifical. Leeches no problem. But plastics wont get a sniff. I just purchased about $300 buck worth of plastics to find out how to get them to go. Its a northern strain fish. One would figure they would be easy but on this lake its common to watch schools of giants just hang around the boat and chill in the shade it provides. So far im averaging 1 hook up for 30ish sighting. Funniest thing is watchin a group of 5-6 pounders in single file lining up behind one piece of cabbage weed on sand. I laugh everytime. But i will keep ya posted when i get better results.

I been one giant smallies. But i cant seem to get them to go on tubes, cranks, blades, jerkbaits, and drop shotted everything. Im about to start to loose my mind. Did long casts and dragged. I have tried everything and havent lit them up. Any suggestions fir wary smallies. Im in 8ft and clear water. Any help would be great.

Well our current five fish limit is 31 lbs of smallies during a tournament in the fall. You can do that very easily with leeches on that body of water in the summer! I cant speak for the records in the states but i guarantee in Ontario it would be easly trumped the first year. Id say five smallies in August for a 33-34 lb bag. If not higher. To most that sounds crazy but if you understand or fish some of these lakes you would quickly understand its not that unrealistic. Last week alone off a wreck we boat a 7+ smallie each outing using tubes. A leech will never be beat on my home body of water. You can go shallow and pull your hair out watching giants swim by or swim away when you drop a tube or drop shot. One pass see 100+ fish catch 3 if your lucky on a tube. 1 pass with a leech and you get your arm yanked off with 5-7s. But they are also shallow clear water high pressured fish.

Not one of the great lakes were im getting those. Its Lake Simcoe. If you know were to go you can honestly 5 lb your arm off.

Imagine!! Id love to see a live bait pro tournament for bass. I bet the records for heaviest bags would change real fast. Also no it opens up the fields for non pro to join in the mix. I know here in Ontario on Lake Simcoe nothing beats a leech. A limit of 5 smallies would exceed 30lbs easily. 28-30 lb bags would fill the top 20 spots in the field. It wouldnt happen though, to much money generated from tackle manufactures supporting these pro events.

3/4 black/blue custom made. Rigged with a rage craw. My clients are eating them up. Gonna have to strap on the tanks and dive down and pick them off the wreck. Must be 100 down there by now. Lol
