Went to Melvern yesterday afternoon, smallmouth bite might even be better than last week. There were only a couple other boats out. All the usual baits worked.

I'm going to head down on Saturday morning. Leave me some.

The way I understand it is between the no wake bouys (middle of the lake and into the west cove) you can go as fast as you want. I've seen it. I think that they want people to quit skiiing and swimming after labor day.

I had a 88 85HP on my first boat, one of the reasons I went Yamaha this time. There is one guy over in Raytown that worked on mine, not sure if he wants his name out on a public forum. PM me if you want his number. Parts are really hard to find and they will most likley be used or rebuilt. I'm sure any decent marine mechanic can figure out the problem.

You can catch a few in Lake Lenexa also. Most will be dinks. You can kill the bluegill/sunfish/rock bass (or whatever you call them) there with crawlers for about an hour before dark. I've caught some nice bass there from my kayak out of the brush, usually after dark.
