  1. Thanks everyone for the responses. It took me a while to get settled, still finishing the basement on the new house. I did get out to Brittle and CM Crockett. I think Crockett will take me a little while to get to know. I am excited because it is only about 20 min from my house. I also went out to Kelly's Ford this weekend and I think I am going to give the Rappahannock a Phelps WMA a go. I fly fish from time to time and that stretch of water seems like a great spot for smallies.
  2. Hi Everyone, I just moved out near Warrenton VA and I am looking for some good spots to wade fish for smallies or some decent lakes to Kayak. I know of Brittle and will try that in the near future, but I am looking for some less pressured areas. Does anyone know any good streams or ponds that I can fish?
  3. Thanks for the tips. Hopefully I can go out tomorrow morning.
  4. Thanks for the input. I actually got a key and a pass. Went out last weekend, and caught about 6 smaller large mouths and lost a decent one at the boat. All were caught on a chatter bait. I was fishing up river from the boat launch, but the water was pretty brown after all the rain. Where do most of you fish from Bull Run Marina? I am in a Kayak and usually only have about 3-4 hours to fish, so going too far down river would limit my time fishing. Thanks
  5. Is there a cost associated with launching a Kayak from Bull Run Marina? I know that if you want a key you have to pay a fee, but is there any other cost? I usually park up the road from the ramp in the public parking lot if I am shore fishing there, but I got a kayak this year and would love to take it out from a place not as crowded as Lake Ridge. Bull Run is about 15 minutes from my house so it is ideal for me. I am learning the Occoquan and the river up from Bull Run looks like it might hold some good fish. Thanks.
