Berkley Powerbait Gilly
Ohhhhhh I am liking this thing. I think Ike and the folks at Berkley might be on to something with this one The 130mm is the ideal bluegill size for my preferences initial impressions are, quality plastic, innovative design that should produce good slow-speed action. Fairly heavy for size, so expect good weightless presentation and castability. Excellent price point for what it is looking forward to getting this in the water for testing.

Dick’s sporting goods, Keitech, and Googan
This makes more sense than anything. I tend to forget about the many supply issues our economy is facing these days. Still surprising though that, not just Keitech, but all other soft plastics brands in this store occupy only a small fraction of an aisle.

Dick’s sporting goods, Keitech, and Googan
Honesty.... All other brands that have a long established history, have only fractional shelf space at this store. Taking a back seat to Googan

Dick’s sporting goods, Keitech, and Googan
The Dicks in my area both simultaneously surprises, and confused me Theyve always had a reliable stock of Keitech baits... until now... today im surprised to find the keitech products barely occupy a half of an endcap. However, they have devoted a whole aisle to Googan baits. All and Everything Googan. Everything from baits to bumper stickers. This direction confuses me, for Dicks to dive in so head-first deep into one brand name. Because by comparison, Keitech popularity has been based on reputation for great effectiveness. Googan popularity is mostly based on the creators youtube channels. Doesnt seem like a wise direction for Dicks. But what do I know

The Grubster review
I really don’t understand it been using it for both largemouth and smallmouth. ive only caught a few largemouth, one Walleye, a couple Crappie, and one white bass. That’s about it over the past few years.

The Grubster review
Holy moly - I love this bait! for being a paddle tail swimbait, this one checks all the boxes for me. It has... - great baitfish profile - great action even at slow speeds - great durability, holds together extremely well - great cast ability, really casts a mile - great color choices But there’s just one problem... i love this bait - but the fish dont. only a handful of fish have showed interest in this bait over the past several year. Even when fished in the best conditions, other baits will catch five times as many, or more. great bait, yet so disappointing

Big worms/ hook size
You guys with your giant hooks... I frequently use a 1/0 offset straight hook for my worms 10” and below. I have never, ever had an issue with hooksets or losing fish because of it. for worms 13” - “16, i’ll Use the same type hook in either a 3/0 or 5/0 respectively. i have never experienced any necessity to rig my soft plastics with a hook the size of a d-ring, giving the appearance that they come complete with a carry handle.

Introducing fishing to a kid
I’m going to recommend against using a hook and bobber. a cast and retrieve will keep the child’s attention engaged far better. Because even if they’re not catching, they are still working the swimming of their lure, and the look of their presentation. THE KEY....IS LOCATION. Take the child to a pond that has an over abundance of fish, this will keep the action fast, with a catch on every other cast or so. Do your due dilligence and planning to scout out and locate a place like this, and the child’s fishing experience will be great. I started my little boy when he was 3yrs old on a 2” curly grub on a 1/16ox ball head. Depending on the pond he. Caught an abundance of small bass and good panfish every time. That was the best way to go.

Bass Chow 9” Booger Worm
Theve been great the Bass have enjoyed them pretty well. If I were to guess, I’m sure it helps that the worm has a slow motion to it that lasts longer. For instance, if you twitch the 9 inch worm, to where it momentarily lays flat, and then pause....the worms buoyancy is such that the tail slowly continues to rise for about another 4 seconds. So you still have motion when you’re doing nothing. Despite being very soft, the durability is better than expected. The material has some elasticity to it, allowing me take a 9 inch worm, and stretch it to about 16 inches before it breaks. A pack of 25 will last a long time. The only issue I can find, is that I wish the head of the worm was a little bit thicker. Best colors so far have been their black/blue, cinnamon oxblood, and purple....so far
