Well called again and told the lady that I just got the boat from my grampa and I wanna put a motor on it..I told her I looked all over the boat for a vin/id plate and there was nothing.I told her my grampa had it on a private lake..I told her I wanna put a motor on it and what I need to bring in and all she said I need is proof of purchase from my grampa..so there's still a little hope lol

Well basically I was told to forget about trying to get the boat registered..the lady I talked to said I would have to go through the courts and try to find the original owner, get a copy of the title.so it may be way more money then the boat is worth to try to get it running :/ I'm sad

Yeah but I wanna put a little motor on it and I was told that if u put a motor on it,it has to be registered..I'll be calling them after work today and I will post what they say

I live in Orange county florida.. And I've looked online for answers but I haven't been able to find a clear answer.. And I don't have a proof of purchase either.. I guess my only option now is to call and see what they say. I was hopeing some one has/had gone through this situation

My dad has a 10 or 12 foot jon boat.. We got it from my cousins old house,the previous owner just left it..how would we be able to get a title to be able to register it? We don't have anyway to get in contact with the previous owner and we would like to get it registered.. Them we want to restore it to make it a better fishing boat
