  1. I got the 7' Medium casting rod, which to me felt more like medium-light. The top half really flexes. I saw a video clip with Mike Iaconnelli where he described using a "whippy" rod to throw soft plastics weightless. This rod does exactly what I was hoping it would for a more than reasonable price. I can really sling a weightless fluke with it. And on top of that, it works great for spinnerbaits and lipless rattle baits. The hooks don't get ripped out of the bass' mouth easily due to the hybrid construction . You can really feel that vibration coming from the lure. Eventually, I might get the medium heavy for dragging jigs and Texas rigged plastics. I've checked one out at BPS and it feels pretty sturdy. It's hard to beat the price for the quality. Hope this helps ya.
