  1. Depending on what style Oakleys you have depends on the plastic built into them. As far as feeling cheap some models have a softer plastic yes, but I've owned Oakley, and Costas and I can say Oakley over rules Costas as far as warranties, and getting what you pay for. I currently have a pair of Infinite Hero polarized half jackets and they are my favorite pair
  2. Awesome info guys I've used a bladed swim jig so I'm sure there's not a HUGE difference between them but I want to start using them
  3. Title says it all! I'm completely new to swim jigs so I'm just looking for some advice on things like brand, when and where to fish, and what time of year are they good for? Any help would be much appreciated!
  4. The Rage Lobster is exactly what I'm going to use this year I actually already bought a few packs now
  5. Same thing with the lakes I fish. All hydrilla and timber
  6. Ok thanks for all the awesome info guys! As far as colors I'm not worried as I've set some traps out and caught some and they were in the brownish green coloring. So green pumpkin will work wonders!
  7. Yea I've seen them used during summer as well, but I've also read how they can be fished pretty much during the whole year. But I have not confirmed that statement. And I would also like to use them more this year!
  8. I know this is probably a stupid/overly asked question. But one of my favorite style baits is the craw style. But I've always wanted to ask when is the best time of year to use them? I mainly try hunt the word try to use the Strike King Rage Tail craws. Also I fish mostly east Texas lakes so we have a lot of grass, stumps, and occasionally some rocky bottoms.
  9. And thank you to everyone for all the inputs, after doing some more reading and looking at reviews I have decided to go with the RL. So in other words I have a spool on it's way of some 15LB RL! I will give an update/review on the line once I get it in, and fish with it a couple times. Again thank you everyone!
  10. No I have not tried that setup. I've never really used braid period honestly.
  11. I will definitely give it a shot thanks!
  12. I'd have to agree on the cold water. Cold weather doesn't really bother me all that much luckily!
  13. Wow nice haul!! That's a nice smallie!! And that's some cooollllddd weather. I started the year out right as well. Granted my weather wasn't as cold as yours haha it was about 41 degrees here. Caught this nice fish I didn't get the chance to weigh him but he was around the 4lb range.
  14. I would go with sunline, but honestly I can't afford it. I'm on a college student income lol so i'm sorta limited on my resources. Otherwise I would of tried sunline a long time ago haha
  15. Welcome to BR!! I've fished Rayburn a couple times last summer! You are from Brenham Tx if I'm right you are about 4 hours south of me
