Legal To Make Copies Of Fishing License?
The first year I had visited SC that happened to me as well. Seems like a waste of money to me. My wife likes to hold on to them for some reason.

Legal To Make Copies Of Fishing License?
This. Plus even tho I know I'm supposed to have it on me at all times, like I said in an earlier post I had never seen a game warden here and figured just running my info would work all the same if I ever encountered one. If it's a planned trip it's always on me. If its an after work thing or spotting a place to get the lines wet after the kids practice or game thats a different story.

Legal To Make Copies Of Fishing License?
I rarely take my wallet or cellphone with me. Less things to ruin or lose. I realize this is making me look or sound stupid or brain dead lol but I'm really not. I usually have it on me, I just end up in situations where it is in another pair of pNts or shorts, in another vehicle, or in another tackle bag which is at home or somewhere else.

Legal To Make Copies Of Fishing License?
Whenever I get my Sc license they email it to me and send me another copy in the mail. I'm not sure why but I appreciate it all the same!

Virginia I-81 Corridor
I grew up on the Occoquan, potomac and shenandoah, and still fish the main, North and South forks all the time due to living so close. There's something almost magical about it. Just an amazing place to be. The fishing is phenomenal until it chokes up with weeds. I prefer the scenery here to that of Nova but Nova has better fishing IMO. With that said these days I'm just happy when I don't get skunked.

Legal To Make Copies Of Fishing License?
No beause when I go I take different vehicles or different gear. And usually I'm in a rush or it's spontaneous. Depending on where I'm going sometimes I don't even take my wallet or phone. With multiple copies I could have one in all of my gears bags, in my wallet and in my vehicles.

Virginia I-81 Corridor
Just looking for some info on some new fishing places along or near 81. I know I could look up places online but most have no reviews or are absolute duds. Not looking for anyones spots or honey holes, just a few productive spots for bass and or bottom fishing. I would be willing to travel as far north as harpers ferry and possibly further south than lynchburg. Thanks in advance!

Long Awaited Anglers Award...
Nice! Congrats!! I believe Va has a similar program but one must catch a citation or trophy of every species. I could have had one if I grew up in the smartphone or at least camera phone age.

Decline In Fishing?
There's definitely a difference around here. When I first moved here the banks and waters were packed. Now you can pretty much go anywhere you want. Even free fishing weekend, which usually kept me away from the water (especially in nothern va and the potomac) is no big deal anymore. The only people I see fishing are the young ones with barbie and spiderman fishing poles and those my age or older.

Legal To Make Copies Of Fishing License?
Thanks for the replies guys. I cannot believe I never had the idea to make multiple copies before. He was cool the whole time and we talked about various places to fish in the area but threatened me with a 200 dollar ticket if he caught me without it again. I think it was earlier that day I had told my wife about the lack of game wardens around here. He was the first I have seen in the 12 plus years I have lived here. Northern Virginia on the other hand is a different story...

Legal To Make Copies Of Fishing License?
I got caught without my license on me the other day. I explained to him that I had one and simply forgot to bring it but still had to follow him all the way back to his truck so he could run me. To avoid having to do this again, is making copies legal? Does anyone do it? I make so many spontaneous trips, and have multiple bags and setups that I tend to leave it behind more often than I would care to admit to. Thanks in advance for any help and replies.

Aquia Creek - Snakehead Report
Ahhh, I figured as much. Thanks for the heads up tho!

Believe It Or Not..
Creek chubs are fun to catch and make great bait!

Carp Fishing Question
Bread and corn works best for me around here. However it may take several days of chumming/actually using corn to get them to bite. If you can do it at the same time every date they will be there waiting.

Do You Consider Pike A Nuisance?
I don't fish in tournaments or professionally so I don't really consider any fish a nuisance. I'm out there to get away, relax, and catch fish and mr. Pike helps accommodate that.

Summer Pike
Big crankbaits or large creek chubs. This is in a crystal clear river, average depth of about 4 feet.

Believe It Or Not..
Congrats. I know the feeling. My last two freshwater fish to catch were muskie and snakehead. Had never caught a muskie until this this year and I couldn't stop smiling or shutup about it lol. I have since caught 7 more so far. Fishing the same places I previously fished with no results. Now for that snakehead.

Aquia Creek - Snakehead Report
Grew up minutes from this place, but haven't been there for fishing or anything else in at least 15 years. Are there any productive spots to shore fish around there? Heading up there soon to visit family and would like to try it out.

Va Valley Noob
Thanks for the greetings and welcomes guys! And Sam I don't think I have ever been asked that many questions on a forum. I usually avoid them because they attract lowlifes of the internet but that doesn't seem to be the case here. Liking what I'm seeing so far! 1.In some sick way I think I do. Some stretches of 81,66, and 64 are just outright boring. 2. I have already been pulled over twice here by the state police. In Nova traffic routinely went 10-15 mph over the limit, and right by cops. Here? Not so much 3. I don't mind the truck traffic as I usually pass and leave them, which leads to me being pulled over. 4. I was here visiting my wife during and after the windstorm a few years back. Power was out for a week here! It doesn't take much to kick it off for an hour or so either. 5.If I have to drive in it I don't mind it. Maybe I would feel differently if I lived in Staunton. Nothing but steep hills! 6. My uncle used to own land on the Shenandoah. We used to slay smallies there. I was excited to catch them again after the move but have only caught maybe 5 small ones. Nothing but largemouth so far. 7.8.And 9. Negative. I am a die hard VT fan. I literally live right in between JMU and bridgewater tho. 10. I cannot stand any skins fan lol. EAGLES!! 11. I have. And behind Mennonites. Depending on my mood or schedule they are both equally annoying. 12. There are people here who think Nova/DC is a gangland, while the others think there is little to no difference between here and there. I doubt I will ever figure this place or these people out lol! Flyfisher, I have abandoned that thinking. It became clear to me when half of my tackle became obsolete when I seen how shallow some of these places are lol. I can catch quantity, but the quality has been eluding me so far.

Va Valley Noob
Hello everybody! Been lurking around here for awhile and decided to finally become a member. I currently live in the shenandoah valley but grew up in Nova. The fishing there spoiled me with the varying waterways and seemingly endless places to fish. Here its crystal clear, shallow, and highly pressured.Funny thing is I ignorantly thought the fishing would be better here lol. Looking to maybe gain a fishing partner or 2 and share some spots. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask!
