  1. size wise whats the average you guys have caught there? not trying to drive far to catch the little guys as the pond by my house has nothing under 2.5 - 3 lbs. ive heard of guys pulling some 8+ lb fish out of suffolk lakes
  2. im thinking of taking on the same task for the local high school. i read up on http://www.highschoolfishing.org/and how they operate. ive also had to pitch ideas at work and justify why we need something as well. my plan of attack would be to comply and write a solid paper and have a few people proofread it. talk about the exposure for the school and how it will reflect positively in the community, get some numbers from schools who already have a solid bass fishing club or team and tie in how that could happen at your school. i would also ask some other school clubs about their funding and how the process works for them to be able to do stuff and be prepared to give them solutions on how you and your club will raise money with fundraising. i would really sell the fact that you said it is an "outdoorsy" school and that there are other people on campus you already fish with that said if there was a club they would be in (get a head count), also talk about how this club could inspire people who were curious about fishing or who may have never even fished before to come out and learn. your going to have to walk before you run and as much as i would love to get all my boys and fish cool places and have the school help fit the bill they want it to benefit the study buddy from the ground up. try and see how your club could work with other clubs or labs on campus (maybe there is a bio class who needs some research done and you could help them since your know the local waters and such) hopefully you can make it happen!
  3. no i was on the CGC VISE and then made 2nd and went over to STA SAND KEY in clearwater. my room mate used to fish lake tarpon but i had some luck just fishing some ponds and stuff i found around st. pete. you should look and see if they still do the D7 MWR bass tournament. im in a native watercraft FB group and asked about a discount and i had multiple people message me who worked at shops trying to get me in a new one for a good price. gotta remember that fishing in florida i was more popular then up here in VA so they know people are going to buy stuff.
  4. sam thanks for the info man. im familier with the RVA area as i grew up in chester / colonial heights. i fish some ponds and such up there when i come visit friends and stuff. next time im at BPS ill look for the magazine. also i will be at the expo for a day or two. wife already gave the go ahead
  5. hey man i was stationed in st. pete/clearwater for 5 years and never fished like i should have but go to bill jacksons they sell kayaks and talk to some of the guys there. i always had luck at ponds and stuff but like you im not trying to pay a shitload of $$$ for a boat i too am looking to get a fishing kayak. im looking at the native watercraft slayer propel 13. you can peddle forward and reverse. ive seen people fishing at lake seminole from yaks before but check out the kayak bass fishing series online and a few of the events are in florida in january and you can rent a kayak and fish the tourny. good luck man
