Awesome website you got here, the articles have helped me out many a time and just wanted to say thanks for those, now on to the questions!
1. "Pitching and flipping", i just cant visualize in my head how to do this, ive read the various articles ive found through the search feature but for some reason it just isnt clicking, does anyone perhaps have a movie that is uploaded or even some pictures that show the basics behind these casting techniques?
1a. On the same note can you use any type of rod reel combo for these techniques, or does it have to be a bait casting reel?
2. I bought some new line for the pole I mainly toss softbaits out on, it was Fireline, 6lb test. I tied the knots like I normally do, but EVERYTIME i set the hook the line snapped! I went through a few rigs this way and then finally gave up and went back to what I was using before. Did I have some bogus line? Was I setting the hook to hard, Im not to sure just wondering what you guys think.
3. Thanks to the site I started to use a "Carolina Rig" whenever I toss worms/salamanders, this is the first time I have ever used any type of leader. With the leader should I still be using a swivel? Should I not be using a swivel at all(even without the leader)?
4. Ive been thinking about giving fly fishing a go seems kinda of fun and I just like to try out new things. Is fly fishing a viable way of catching bass in a pond/lake setting? If so, what would you guys reccomend for a starter rod/reels I havent looked online yet but at my local tackle store (wal mart ) they only have two one is $60 and the other is $125, Im not sure im ready to drop the 125 and 60 seems kind of cheap it is made by "scientific anglers" or something similar!
Im sure im going to come up with alot more questions, but thanks for any help you guys can give me.
Edit: Added a question.
Edit2: Texas rig != Carolina Rig
