All good advice. One other thing I would add is don't fill your spool up when learning. Fill it 1/2 to 3/4 full, easier to cast with less backlash.

I had a great year last year with big bass. I live in Minnesota where they are not as big. I caught 12 bass that were over 5 pounds, most of them on jigs close to cover and weed lines. I found a new jig last spring that works great. *** lures. Check them out and work on leaning to fish jigs, you will catch bigger fish.

One of my best years. I caught 12 Bass over 5# this year. Not as many fish overall, but a good year.

I have, I never fish with the radio on. Only use it when moving or sitting at the dock.

I have narrowed my choices down to an Old Town Predator, Ride 115x, or a Jackson Cuda 12. Any tips or pro's and cons of any would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
