I live in central Illinois. There are a few power plant lakes that have a 25hp limit so that's what I got. I get 18-19 mph with a partner and 20-21 by myself. I haven't ran it on rough water yet.

I just bought a new Crestliner VT17 and like it a lot but I don't fish on very big waters.

I need some help deciding on a new boat. The choices are a 2014 Lowe Stinger 175 and 2015 Crestliner vt17. They are similarly upgraded. Does anyone have one of these. If so how do you like it as far as stability and fishing go? I'll be mainly be bass fishing along with an occasional crappie trip. I fish 25 hp restricted lakes in central Illinois.

I was fishing a farm pond with a buddy when I had a fish break off using a horny toad. I had my buddy throw his spinnerbait to the same log just seconds later and the fish he caught had my hook and toad in it's mouth. It was only about 13 inches but still cool.
