I've been searching all morning again and thinking about maybe trying baitcasting. If I decide to go with bait casting would the following be good? Rod: Abu-Garcia Veritas 2.0 (6'6 Medium) Reel: Abu-Garcia Revo SX What line should i use? mono or braid? Thanks!

I used to fish with my dad as a kid (15+ years ago) and have not touched a fishing pole since. I'm going camping in April at Clear Lake and want to go fishing for some largemouth bass! I've spent the last few days reading and searching and decided on the following reel/rod combo. Can anyone take a look and let me know what you think? I'm going with a spinner since that's what I'm used to but I'm not opposed to going with baitcaster as long as there's a good reason to. Rod: Abu-Garcia Veritas 2.0 (6'6 Medium) or Abu-Garcia Vendetta (6'6 Medium) Reel: Pflueger President 6930X (130 yards/8 lbs) Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
