Well, the issue is resolved. Raised the motor to the third hole as opposed to the second..Spoke with Lowe who uses the same hull in their HP 17. They said my setup with the 90 Optimax will need the engine mounted on the 3rd hole from the top, Lowe also said that the added weld bead is sometimes used if need be. The weld would be on the hull at the very rear and would be about 1/8 to 1/4" thick depending on the boat. The weld would be added on the first step-off from the center pad, left and right of course. Didn't get much help from BBC other than personal attacks and a gentleman posting twice saying (LOWER YOUR MOTOR) in all caps. Anyway, With my wife and daughter and plenty of fuel i touched 42 GPS and had the rev limit warning beep at me a couple of times. With 10 year old and myself, I could hit the Rev warning beep at will. I guess I need a little more prop. I have the Trophy Plus in 19 pitch. that I hope can be worked up. The boat jumps right out of the hole as is but I'm not liking the RPM's at WOT.

Yes, I have tried shifting some weight around. I've got about 90 pounds of anchors in the front with front live well full of water. Two passengers equaling 400 pounds, half a tank of gas and two batteries in the rear. The boat has plenty of trim left and I know that boat will ride on less pad than it does now. Placing some wedges on the bottom rear of the hull might work but I'm not sure where to mount them. Extreme rear edges of the boat or closer to the center? There is a Ranger dealer about 30 minutes from me that sells the RT series. Maybe I'll drive by there and take a look at the bottom of their hull to see where they located the wedges. I'm not against trying them, I could temporarily epoxy them to the bottom.

I wish I could find the thread that I read. Apparently several guys had this issue and some representatives came down from Triton to address the issue. One of the technicians from Triton welded some beads about 8 inches wide on the first step up of the hull. I guess my question would be what are they considering the first step up for example closest to the edge of the boat or the first step from the center pad? It resolved the issues with the five boats that were brought to that dealer to meet with the Triton reps. They were able to trim out quite a bit without purpose thing. I've had fiber glass bass boats before, and never had an issue like this. When I test drove my boat I noticed it porpoised slightly so I just trim down. It would run around 35 to 40, but when I trimmed up to where I thought it should be it started the bouncing.

Hello, new to this forum. I found a post about others having this issue with a new to me 2007 TS 17 with 90 hp Optimax. The topic was from 2008 and the gentleman mentioned that Triton had welded a bead on the first step up of the hull near the transom. I'm having this issue when trimming and it's driving me nuts. I'm wondering if this weld was located at the first step up from the pad or at the farthermost step up from the pad. Anyone have any knowledge you could share with me?
