  1. Yes, off of route 210 from 422. Do not confuse it with Keystone Sate Park near New Alexandria closer to Greensburg, which is basically a put and take trout lake. I have been making a killing at the Keystone Power Dam this year. Great numbers and some really quality fish, largemouth and smallmouth. Made a few trips there, but have not been back since May 26. On a side note, excellent musky lake. Caught some bass at Quemahoning this past weekend and High Point the week before. Not great days, had to work for them at both places. Oddly, no sign of spawning fish yet. Mainly using wacky senkos and C rigs with finesse worms.
  2. Just got a Phenix Maxim for under 100 during memorial day sale on TW. LOVE IT!! May be my new favorite rod, and yes, I do have omens (they are awesome too).
  3. There are still a few Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth rods out there. They were discontinued so they are getting harder to find. I love mine. It is very light and thin but still performs very well. I have it in a 6'3" I believe? I went with a shorter length for creek fishing smallmouth. It is a medium with a fast tip. It is definitely on the light side of a medium. It has great action and sensitivity. I think it would work for the size jigs you are throwing but still have enough power to handle some big bronzes.
  4. I am also in the market for a spinnerbait rod. I am hoping to see many more suggestions on here.
  5. Pflueger president. Like it just as much as my Stradic Ci4 at way less money. Not as light, but just as smooth.
  6. Thank you for all the information. Sounds like we do have the same issue. I paid extra attention to it this morning. Aside from the handle issue, it does feel very "geary".
  7. It is definitely not the line slapping on the rod. I think I am going to try to send it back. I should not have to do anything like add washers to a new reel, especially one that I paid that much for.
  8. Huh, I always figured turtles mainly ate based on smell/scent, I guess I should not be surprised by this though.
  9. Yes, I do have the same play in the handle. I have not tried lubing my reel up yet, but I was going to. I think that the lateral play in the handle may have something to do with it.
  10. Only fished my Stradic about 6 trips and it is making noise when taking up slack line. Goes away with a little tension on the line, even very minimal like a wacky rig senko, just barely moving. Anyone else have this or any thoughts?
  11. Fishing a wacky rig senko the other day and hooked something huge. Did not fight at all like a bass and felt like a turtle clawing at line with arm the way they do. Line broke before saw it. Anyone catch snapping turtles on Senkos?
  12. I just ordered an MB but only based on reviews I read on the internet and either Tackle Tour or Wired to Fish...can't remember. I agonized over which to get too. Where are you getting an MB for only 100 bucks?
  13. I live and fish in PA. I have always used spinning set ups for my texas and Carolina rigs, but I want to try them on a baitcaster set up. I have always wanted to get a Phenix rod and/or an irod Genesis II so I figure this is my chance. I was surprised to see that Phenix does not make any medium action casting rods. Anyone have the MH and use it for these applications? Does it work well and is it sensitive enough? I am used to the feel of M or MH spinning rods for this. As for irod, they make a ton of different models of the Genesis. Who has them and which would you recommend for c-rigs and t-rigs? Keep in mind, these are Pennsylvania bass, not Florida or Texas bass...two and three pounders are the norm, four or better are the exception.
  14. What type/brand of glass rods are you guys talking about? What do you like?
  15. Finally, someone saying Stren, I have used 14 lb lo-vis green for years. No problems. I find way less knots and nests with Stren than with Trilene.
  16. Big bass are all over the rocky shorelines of Keystone Power Dam. Caught about thirty from shore the other night after work. Can't wait to get my boat up there. Talked to guy coming in and he said he had one of best days of fishing of his life. This was Thursday 5-7-15. Caught them on weightless senkos being jerked fast.
  17. That is what I am doing, but when I look at the topic, I do not see it in my reply. I only see what I wrote. Possibly just not visible to me when I am the one doing it. BTW, I hit the quote button to reply to this.
  18. How do you put up a post where it shows what someone else said in the gray box above what you write. I feel very dumb for not being able to figure this out!
  19. I used to take my Jack Russell all the time. One day after my wife and I had fished for about five hours without a fish, we finally call it a day. As we are getting the boat up on the trailer, my dog (Tucker) dives into an area of thick weeds and slop about 8 inches deep and surfaces with a 12 inch largemouth in his mouth. Embarrassing to be outfished by a dog!
  20. Where can you get an Aetos for 100 bucks? Please tell, I would buy one tonight.
  21. Definitely agree with the Fenwick Elite Tech smallmouth. Great rod. Light, sensitive, comfortable, all around awesome. They are discontinued, but can still be found out there. Get one while you can.
  22. The Que does produce some monster fish...of all species. Have caught some huge pike and walleye while bass fishing. Best lake around for sight fishing bass too. Water is so clear. Have spent many a day paddling back in after draining two deep cycles fighting wind though. I honestly believe state record largemouth is in there!
  23. When things get tough, wacky rig weightless and let 'er sink slow. Takes tons of patience though, which I don't always have!
  24. What is your issue with the reel seat? Just not a fan or is there known issues?
  25. Surprised to hear that the savvy is not that sensitive of a rod. My ET rod is definitely the daintiest of my bass rods, very sensitive, but in weeds sometimes a little underpowered on hokset...it is a medium action, sometimes wish I would have went medium heavy. Is a savvy a pretty small diameter rod like the ET?
