I am going up to Canada (Ontario) in a couple of weeks and one lake i fish is clear as bath water. I have never caught a smallmouth in this lake but i do know it is loaded with them. Any suggestions as to patterns these fish tend to follow this time of year? I'm looking for any tips on areas to look for and presentation pointers. Thanks for any knowledge shared!

I have recently relocated to the Charlottesville area and was wishing someone could recommend area lakes to catch some bass. Will be bank fishing for a while. Any help is greatly appreciated!

W2S Thanks for the reply. I should have stated that I will mount it up front on the deck. It is its own unit not hooked up to an HDS. I know aa coomon place for the transducer is on the troller, but didn't know if there were any other/better options?

I recently purchased one of the new Lowrance downscan units and was wanting some opinions on where to place the transducer. Should I have it mounted to the trolling motor or run somewhere else? Until now, I have always fished using just a flasher, so i want to make sure I do it right. Thanks for the input!

I fish a tube jig in Canada in weeds, lilly pads and grass. When I don't have a hook full of vegitation, I usually have a hook full of smallmouth.

Does anyone have any current patterns and or locations of the lake to find fish on OH Ivie? We will be there Wednesday for the day. I had planned a trip to Amistad from today through Wednesday but the winds are forecasted for 20-30 and that doesn't sound like fun. I am half way between both lakes and thought I would try this forum for info. for a last second change. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, does anyone have a good route to take from Junction? Thanks for the help!!

I will be at Amistad at the very end of July. What is the fishing like at that time? I would assume the pattern would be similar? I have never fished there that time of year. Dec/Jan is my normal time there.
