I got an elite 4x chirp on my boat. I have mine set in shallow water mode. I was told by a guy at lowrance to turn surface clarity to low and to turn off auto sensitivity. Then go and adjust the sensitivity by using a jig or similar lure beneath the transducer til u see a it as a line on ur screen. For down scan contrast is equal to sensitivity. Hopefully that helps/gets u started.

I like to fish at night when it gets this hot. It's in the 90's by 9 am here so I go out an hour before dark and fish til.....well as late I can and still make it to work the next day

If ur a bank beater try turning around and casting away from the bank. Id guess most of the lakes ur fishing here in central Florida have under water vegetation. Use a Texas rig with a glass bead and work the edges of under water grass lines in 8-15 ft of water.
