I took a fishing trip to Okoboji, IA. Weds. through Sat. Even though the only thing I caught in Okoboji west was a few pike. We also fished a lake just south of Spirit Lake. I didn't get any measurements off this guy because when I got him in the net he went crazy and got the lure tangled in the net. This is definitely a pb for me. I wanted to take a pic and get this guy back in the water as soon as possible. Maybe if someone on here can give me a guesstimate on what he could have weighed. I also caught my first ever small mouth on Spirit Lake. I guess you can say this is a pb also. I caught him while fishing the docks using a spinner with a white trailer(fishing for largemouth) my first year of fishing I would say is a success James

again I have been bass fishing for 2 months now and just caught my personal biggest fish. Even though it doesn't compare to most on here im proud of this little guy. Also not bad for a lake that is less then a year old. caught on a White spinner with red on the head of it and a all white trail.

I just got into bass fishing in the last couple months. The first few times I have been out I have been skunked. I have been reading these forums and soaking up the info. While this is nothing to brag about I have caught fish everytime I have been out since I have been reading these forums. Even though I am only catching 2 or 3 with a best being 6 fish nothing really big either just because this lake is only a year old. Its just the thrill of getting a bass to attack a lure. To everyone that posts up about different techniques and different baits to use thank you! Hopefully I will have a picture worth bragging about soon! Thanks James

I can't say it was heartbreak for me but a guy I work with took me fishing and it was my first time ever. I caught my first bass ever during this trip. So it was getting late so I made the bet the next person to catch a bass has to buy the first beer at this restaurant. My buddy hooked this bass and as he was lifting it into the boat it came off the hook. I then caught the next fish and won the bet
