  1. Last year I purchased a Chronarch CI4+. I absolutely love the reel. It's my first baitcaster so I don't have experience with other types of baitcasters. I'm having a little bit of a hard time understanding the ideal balance between using the breaks and the tension knob. Is there a specific rule of thumb on what to use? Right now I have no breaks on and rely only on the tension knob to avoid backlashes. .The fine tuning knob is also set at zero. Is that a disadvantage to turning on two of the four breaks and lessening the tension on the spool tension knob, in terms of casting length? I'm using a powerpro 30# braid.
  2. Hi, I'm finally ready to purchase another rod for my chronarch. I've been using a St Croix model (can't remember the name) but it is quite heavy so I'd like to replace it with something geared towards my fishing style. I usually use topwater lures, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, spoons, spooks, etc. I'm looking for a rod to pair with my chronarch CI4. I cast out quite a bit so something light would be ideal. The lake we fish in usually has calmer waters and we mainly fish for Pike/Bass (located in Quebec, Canada) After researching, one that comes up often is the G. Loomis IMX or GL2 series. Any opinions on it? Or what else would you be able to recommend?
