  1. I got a Big Rig 2015 model for 1500 to my door. I researched a lot of kayaks and thought this was the best for my needs. Extreme stability is most important to me for stand up bass fishing. The Big Rig is not small and light so something to consider. Now I am looking for a super stable kayak for my daughter and have decided on a Diablo Amigo. Seems like a lot of stability for the price. I dont want my kids falling out of their kayaks so stability is the most important factor for me. Any comments fro the Amigo would be great as there is not a lot of info out there for them. Thanks
  2. Thanks for the feedback guys. I did feel the big rig was stable. I just thought there would be less side to side rocking. I guess it is the nature of the beast. I think I could be quiote happy with the big rig. I was just looking for alternatives since there is no way I can paddle all of them. i figured the big rig was as stable as possible considering the width and reputation. As far as I know the only kayak that might be more stable would be a Hobie PA but they are out of my price range.
  3. Anyone with a lot of kayak experience. What is the most stable kayak out there. Paddled a jackson big rig today and although nice I thought it would be more stable than it was. Was my first time in a kayak. It rocked pretty good when shifting weight around. I am 5'10" and around 210.
  4. Hey Wayne I have a quick question. Do the SI "pings" come strait out of the ducer or do they come out at a cone angle like a conventional xducer. In other words do they go at a 90 degree angle to the boat or a fan shape.
  5. Has anyone mounted a SI ducer on the horizontal area of the setback on glass boat. I have Ranger R83 and there is a large flat horizontal area at the setback. The mounting bracket will only work on a more vertical surface. Is there a way to mount there or is it a bad idea.
  6. Thank you very much Wayne. I would have ended up doing it wrong so I really appreciate your help and knowledge. I didnt realize there were so many different xducers and cables and options with all these new graphs. I guess thats what you get with technology and I am a little behind the times.
  7. Just ordered the 859ci HD DI for the bow graph. Should I swap out the xducer for the TM specific one. Also will the ContourXD maps be any good or will I need an upgrade. Hopefully it is a good graph to last me many years.
  8. Thanks Wayne. I have a Ranger R83 so I am concerned with xducer placement on the transom. Not sure what is the best location for it. A spot that it doesnt get ripped off or pick up interference from the outboard and still be able to use it on plane.
  9. First post here. Looking to replace 2 old graphs on my boat and need some advice. Want to upgrade to DI/SI and GPS. Am looking at Humminbird 859 for front and 899 for console. Saw the 859 at F&S and they are huge units for only a 7" screen. Dont know much about transducers and mounting them correctly. Can anyone recommend a good system for me. How important is being able to network them together. Am I on the right track with putting the SI graph at the console ant the DI graph at the bow. Dont want to regret an expensive purchase.
