  1. I want to spend more time bass fishing because it's a lot of fun and I don't have to spend as much time doing it compared to trout fishing, although I need to get a good setup going. Currently I have a good frogging rod, nice and stiff medium rod and a bait caster spooled up with braid, but I want to fish other lures especially now that we are in the middle of winter. I want a rod/reel combo thats a good multi purpose combo and is good for crank baits. As for budget, maybe around $120? Not sure if I can get something decent in this price range and I'm new to bass fishing and bait casters in general Thanks.
  2. I really want to get into bass fishing, I am experienced with other types of fishing but I have never intentionally caught a bass. I was wondering if you could fish a crankbait and other bass lures using a spinning reel or do I need to get a casting one? Also do you guys have any recommendations for a good spinning reel?
  3. So when I am looking to buy line for intended use after practice the P-Line CXX Xtra Strong Copolymer - Green from Cabelas would be good for bass fishing? Also if I were to purchase this what lb test should I get and is the 300 yards enough or should I get the 600 yards? Also thanks for all the help!
  4. So, I decided to purchase the Abu Garcia Black Max and the Cabela's Pro Guide Casting Rod. Now I was wondering what type of line should I be using? I was reading around the forums and it seems like most people recommend braid, anywhere from 15-25 lb test. Now I was wondering what brand should I get, what lb test and what is the best place to purchase it? Thanks for the help.
  5. So I am very new to bass fishing and I would like to buy a baitcasting rod and reel combo. I have about 60-80 dollars to spend. So what do you guys think?
  6. I'm leaning towards casting. And thanks for the warm welcome
  7. So I would like to take up bass fishing but there are some things I would like to know first. What is a good starting reel/rod? I have only caught one bass before and that was on accident while fishing for bluegill. So I really don't know much. Also what is a good strength line to be using? I live in the Northern California area and the people I have been talking to are saying its mainly Largemouth around here. Anyways thanks for the help. (Also I don't have a ton of money to spend but I can invest some)
