Hard To Find Neutral
i opened up the throttle lever and took out the trim switch. i noticed that it was stuck under the cover. after freeing it up it seems to work properly now. The neutral issue wasnt that easy though. i plan on trying to adjust it properly when i have time. thanks for the input guys

Hard To Find Neutral
So i have been having this problem with my boat since i bought it. It feels like neutral on the throttle handle is not actually where it should be. it almost feels like its in the reverse position. To start the boat i have to find the sweet spot and it is closer to the reverse side. Any ideas on what the cause of this is and what i would need to do to fix this? My boat is 96 ranger r72 with johnson 115 on the back Also on another note, i recently went out in some wet rainy weather and the next trip out with my boat the trim would just automatically go down on its own until i hit the throttle handle. It would periodically start on its own and just keep forcing the trim down. This caused my battery to die over the weekend because i did not know it was happening. Any help on this issue would also be appreciated. Thanks!

New To Me Boat Battery Question
So a strong fual purpose battery will give a full day of cranking and use? Does this explain why the engine would stall when throttled?

New To Me Boat Battery Question
Looks like i did need that other battery. i was fishing from 7am-12 and ended up not getting the engine to turn over. it was really strange. eventually after 20 minutes the boat did start but when i tried to hit the throttle it would stall out. could i possibly remove the current battery and use a deep cycle for a cranking/accessory battery? do you have any ideas as to why the engine would stall when i would try to accellerate.

New To Me Boat Battery Question
I was thinking about that. I will look into it. Fo you think it could have been because he did not have a charger on his cranking battery?

New To Me Boat Battery Question
So we figured it out. The trolling motor was using 2 batteries and the starting battery was connected to another deep cycle battery. I removed the deep cycle battery and everything was still fully operational. I tested the batteries and they all had the proper voltage as well. The boat now also gets on plane faster too. Thanks for the help guys.

New To Me Boat Battery Question
I have a new to me 96 Ranger R72 which has 4 batteries in the back. Recently the battery charger crapped out so i need to buy a new one. Do i need to buy something that charges all 4 batteries? The old charger was only a 2 bank. I have a motorguide trolling motor up front with 2 fish finders. Thanks for your help!
