Ive used both a 20lb thrust and now use a 45lb thrust on my boat. The 20lb definitely got me out fishing, but the 45lb gets me out fishing and fast. If you're buying new, spend the extra 35 bucks and get a 45 compared to a 40lb.

Winter here in PA and I'm going to get the boat in the garage for upgrades. I have some questions that hopefully some can help me out with.. 1. Big Foot Switch - once this switch is spliced into TM, am i stuck using it? Basically I have a casting deck that I made that I am going to mount the switch to. However, if I am in a rush and want to go for a quick hour session, am I stuck bringing the casting deck with me each time (given the switch is mounted to it)? I have no experience with these switches so I apologize for the ignorance. 2. Fish Finder - What is the consensus here as to where to mount the transducer? I can obviously mount it to the TM, but for the sake of saving wires running along the boat, does it make sense to mount it to a fabricated pole next to my seat (the unit is going to be mounted right next to my seat)? What he said. If you have the funds, and the transportation means for a 10 foot boat, go with that one. You'll thank yourself later.

Going to begin work on my casting deck soon. Couple questions for everyone and hopefully someone can give me some ideas. Did anyone make a casting deck (for the front) that works when two people are fishing? Also, has anyone explored the idea of making a deck that that extends the whole front of the boat width wise? Meaning the deck extends over the pontoons on each side? I think this is feasible and would provide more room for standing, but don't know where to anchor and how to go about it. Thanks guys.

Also would love to see/hear everybody's deck/flooring ideas. I will be split between fishing with a buddy and fishing solo. I would like to make a deck with a pedestal seat for when I fish alone. Have the back seat stay in to travel to the fishing area, then have the front pedestal seat to fish. This front deck will come out and be replaced with the other seat when I am with a buddy. Anybody have a set up similar to this?

Anyone else running a Minnkota Mx65 20lb thrust? I'm picking up my boat today and am worried this might not be enough power. Also looking into getting a 2.5 outboard but prices are not cheap.

Hey fellas, I am new to the topic and looking to purchase a 10e. I have a 2015 Colorado with a 5.2 inch bed. With the tailgate down, do you think I will be able to put a 10e in my bed with straps and it be okay? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
