Switch line on one of my reels?
I can't stress enough how appreciative I am for your help. One more question (for now). I probably went about this process the wrong way, but I interchange reels/rods all the time. I have three spinning reels: - Pflueger President LE sz. 30, currently loaded w/ Suffix 832 (20lb) - Pflueger President sz. 30, PP Super Slick (15lb) - Shimano Sedona FE (the new one) sz. 2500, Seaguar Tatsu (8lb) - I Also have a spool of 6lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft I've got got 3 rods: - Fenwick Aetos 6'6 Med. Fast (2pc) - Fenwick HMG 7'0 Med. Fast (2pc) - Numbah eight black... 6'6 Med. Fast (1pc) With all this being said, any recommendations as to whether I should respool one of my lines with the hybrid? If so, which one? Last, any thoughts on what reels I should pair with specific rods? I plan on taking the two 2pc rods on a trip over the 4th, so the 1pc eight will have to stay at home. Thanks!

My HMG and Aetos are both two-piece rods. Haven't had any issues with either.

Whopper Plopper 90 & Spinning Rig?
This is all very helpful, and totally allays my concerns. Thank you all! Now the next question is color: Munkey Butt, Rat Tat Tat, or Shad in 90? Also, was I correct in concluding that it's not really a wise idea to fish a 1/2oz - 3/4oz jig on a spinning rod that is rated for that range? Is there something specific about jig fishing that makes spinning rods unreasonable?

Whopper Plopper 90 & Spinning Rig?
Has anyone tried this? I would like to use my 7' Fenwick HMG Medium/Fast or 6'6 Fenwick Aetos Medium/Fast, paired with either 15lb or 20lb braid. Is this a mistake? I was under the assumption that I could use my spinning rods with any bait thats within the suggested weight range. For example, I purchased some 1/2oz and 3/4oz jigs, but little did I know, I can't really use them with my spinning setup, so I picked up some smaller 1/4oz and 3/8oz jigs. What's the purpose of the lure size range if you can't use the entire range? My apologizes if this is better suited in the rod/reel subforum.

Questions about BPS Products & tips on next rod/reel
Could you clarify something here? You say the CL is more sensitive, but you'd use the Extreme to help feel the bite better. Do you mean you'd use fluoro/braid to feel the bite better in the Extreme? If I were to keep everything the same (15lb braid, reel, length/action rod (6'6" to 7'0 Med/fast or MH/fast), it seems like the CL would be the best pick. With that being said, I just picked up a 6'6" Fenwick Aetos in Med/Fast, so it may not be necessary to look at one of these rods, correct?

Questions about BPS Products & tips on next rod/reel
How do the new BPS Extreme rods compare to the new Carbonlites? Obviously, the carbonlite is lighter, but I'm wondering which is more sensitive? Any preferences towards either? @Darren. @Mike L

We Need A Section Here For Product Reviews??
I purchased a 6'6" MedFast as well, but have only fished it once. I didn't have success with it, or the 7' Fenwick HMG I was alternating between.

I'm sorry you don't like the handle.

I'm not sure which of these features are on the standard President, but the LE has a braid ready spool, sealed drag system, carbon drag handle, rosewood handle knob, and aluminum main shaft and pinion gear.

I just posted this to a separate thread, but I'm pretty excited to get this reel in. As expected, first impressions are positive.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
This may get me in trouble, but there have been several posts from members who comented on the quality of these rods, but they were seemingly deleted. I only know this because I responded to a good number of them and couldn't access the thread when I went to check for replies. Nonetheless, I'm still curious to see how these rods compare to a Fenwick HMG.

Absolute Most Sensitive Rods $150 Or Less?
It's interesting seeing the Lightning Rods being mentioned so frequently. Perhaps it's because they are THE "low-end" rod to buy?

Help Selecting A Rod And Line
Has anybody considered comparing the Lightning Rod (normal or shock) to the Fenwick Eagle GT ($59) and the Fenwick Silverhawk available at Cabelas now for $59? I'm in a similar position as Radioflyer, and am curious to see how they all compare.

Help Me Choose A Rod!
I get the impression that they are both stiffer and rated higher, but don't take my word for it. I'm sure there are others who have experience with some or all of the rods you listed that could provide their insights.

Help Me Choose A Rod!
I don't see nearly as much mention of the HMG as I do for the *** (which I've admittedly never tried), but the HMG is seriously an awesome rod. Mine is 7' MF rated for lures 1/4-3/4oz. I can launch them extremely far. Plenty sensitive for me, and I've had pretty good success using it thus far.
