Hey guys! I am going on a fishing trip soon to a small lake up in Michigan. I will be fishing mostly for bass and pike and I wanted to buy some lures online. I would love some lure recommendations. My dad and I used to use only live bait to fish for pike on our yearly fishing trip and we would rarely catch anything. Last year was the first year we actually used some lures and we had a lot better luck. I do some pike and bass lures but not many. What types of lures do you guys use and what are some of your favorites. I also am going to get some soft plastics and need help deciding on what ones to get.

Thanks for all the answers guys, especially Jaderose!!! I actually just went fishing earlier today (after airsofting with my friends) and caught three or four small bass. I used GULP earthworm colored worms texas rigged sortof. I didn't really have the right hook to do it but the fish didn't mind. Do you guys think GULP works better than other soft plastics because of it's strong scent? I am going to buy some hooks and some of the baits listed above soon! Thanks for the answers!

HI guys! I am 15 and I am somewhat of a beginner fisherman. I have fished with pre-rigged rubber worms for a few years but now I would like to start fishing with soft plastic baits instead. The pre-rigged rubber works get snagged to easily and the weedless styles have really bad action. Could you tell me what kind/style of softplastic baits (flukes, ribbontails, senkos, creatures) I should use as well as color, size, and how I should rig it. There are so many types of softplastics, what bait should I use in what scenario? Also should I use a hook or a plain jig or a skirted jig. I also fish for pike so colors and styles for pike fishing would be great too, as well as leaders for pike fishing that won't disturb the action of the bait. Thanks!

Hey guys! I have been looking into baitcasting reels, and I need advice. I have one that costed $15 and it sucks. When I adjust it so there is no backlash it only casts like 15 feet. I want to get a decent reel for a low price, (under $50). I dont need an amazing reel just comment some reels that are low price but get the job done, or some reels that you like to use and think are worth the money. Also comment a combo if you want. I will mainly be fishing for bass and pike and I want something that doesnt feel like overkill for the middle sized fish but it needs to be able to handle the occasional larger fish. And could I also use the same reel and rod combo for catfish and walleye as well? Thanks alot in advance!

Hi guys, this is my first post! I have a nice Shakespear Deceiver 1040 spinning reel and I want to pair it with a rod. I was wondering if anyone knew a good rod that is cheap, (under $50). I need a versatile rod because I want to do a variety of bass fishing and pike fishing with it. I prefer a lighter more bendable rod that doenst feel like overkill for the small/medium sized fish but I need something that can handle the occasional decent sized pike. Does anyone have any recommendation? Also what kind of line do you recommend for bass pike fishing? Thanks alot!
