Just one more question, would i be able to use a 5wt for bluefishing(saltwater)? I have been saltwater fishing for a couple years now, and been using fairly light tackle.(6'6, medium fast action st croix triumph with a penn 440ssg)

Does anyone know what kind of flies to use, or which style, fly? And how to do it?(just cast out and strip the line in?) I just started fly fishing, (actually fly fishing with line, leader and tippet), and i catch like, crappie, sunfish, bass and shiners. Where i am fishing is at, its a lake, rather than a stream. They will be stocking the lake with 470 trout this monday.

Hardbaits. I never catch a thing on hardbaits. I tried a walk the dog lure, crank baits, anything. I always use and always catch fish on softbaits.

Skeno 77, when im hanging out with girls, im just asking for trouble..lol. Not to be cocky but if i go out with one girl, another will see and then there are problems. ring fry, mercury 77, i dont have a job or any afterschool extra curricular activities so i got all the time in the world afterschool.haha. squid, thank god im not married to my significant other yet, i still have many years head of me! lol.

Use a 1/32 jig, yellow w/ glitter curly tail grub, and a bobber. I can catch up to 20 crappies on that rig on a good day.

Fighting fish illini, i have a g/f thankyou very much. Lol. I am socially interactive, mostly at school more than anywhere else. Yesterday i didnt fish,(don't act surprised..lol), my mom wouldn't let me go, so i went to the mall with my g/f instead. I mean, its not like i don't have any friends, because i have alot. Im just an average kid that loves fishing. You're true bout saying i am only a kid once but, look at how many years i got ahead of me, i think i got enough time for a wife. Plus, im in highschool, yes there is a chance i will marry this girl but, if i don't, theres college!

The dicks sporting goods here is like what the threadstarter said. Its horrible, the service is terrible. THe people in fishing know nothing about fishing. But what's even worse is walmart. I asked them to get my a reel in the glass case, took them 30 minutes to come, and the guy doesn't even look inside and already say that its sold out. I tell the guy to look but he refused....

lol leftcoast, that was a good one. I fish with my cousin, i never fish by myself. Yes socially it can take a toll, because often friday nights im out fishing instead of the mall, or party, or a friends house. But are you crazy? inviting a girl fishing...Maybe to go out to the lake a relax and enjoy the scenery, maybe pull out a string and catch a sunny lol. But i don't think i would invite a girl fishing, unless i see her fishing..lol

avid, no offense but, i do not think i have to worry about that till i am alittle older. My parents do not fish. My mom is a chem engineer and my dad is a realtor. I got no clue where i got the fishing bug from, honestly. My brother, used to fish but hes grown out of it. I have been fishing since i was about in 2nd grade, so, for almost 10 years of my life, i have been fishing. Mom never picked up a rod, she doesn't like it, nor does my father. I guess its a mother's job to worry, but, im fishing! whats gonna happen to me, a cold at worst in cold weather. I've never got hooked, i never got cut during fishing. Although my skin on my thumb kinda gets torn up from lipping the bass. lol

I will NEVER EVER EVER get bored of fishing. 06' i went fishing everyday in the summer. I wake up at 12ish, eat, get out to the lake by no later than 3. Fish till 9, do my other activities, friends girls etc, and repeat. Zel, only family i have here where i live, in the us is my parents and one brother and a cousin. As far as education, im doing pretty decently, i think. Decision making? Am i making a bad decision going fishing and staying out of trouble? Responsibility ties with education. I get my hw done, i get maintain good grades. Physical fitness, i play soccer, im in shape, i weigh 125lbs and i benchpress 140lbs. As far as i know, i am in shape. Spirituality, im gonna admit i got no idea what you're talking bout when u say that....haha

I mean, sometimes i buy expensive stuff. My most expensive reel is 100$, but then again it was my money. My rods and reels, i pay for all of it. My parents don't even have to worry about replacing my equipment because i replace it myself.(if i needed to replace it..)

I am currently a student in highschool, a jr. I get good grades, honor roll, good gpa. I never get in trouble at school, or with the police. I don't go out with friends much, don't do drugs, nothing bad. My only habit is going fishing, ALOT. Now, i go fishing about everyday, afterschool till yesterday. My mom yelled at me for going fishing to much, for the adults in this forum with children, how do u feel about this? I mean, im not doing anything bad, i go to school, afterschool go fishing, and im home at 7 by the latest.(Usually im home at 6ish when its dark). I myself do not think that this is bad at all. I've even heard by other people that i fish with(adults) wanting their kids to be like me. Just fishing and thats it.

mktrout you think its a el cheapo rod? It uses the same guides a a st croix triumph. Decent cork.
