  1. It's been a while since I been on this forum, but at the same time, I have not been on the water as much as I'd like to. I just started fishing more deep water this year as well and I've been doing pretty well. Fishing points, ledges, and outside weed lines. Caught fish in 10-20ft of water. I've been using 1/4oz shaky heads with a zoom finesse worm, 1/2oz jigs, and t-rigged yum swimming dinger or on 1/2oz bullet weight. Casting towards ledges or points and working it back, also pitching at outside weed lines. Depending on water clarity, black/blue or junebug for dirtier water and green pumpkin or watermelon for clearer water. Hopefully that helps.
  2. Not sure what the water temps are up there, but I was out on Tonka last week and I was seeing 59-60 in the bays. Saw bass cruising around, but no beds yet and none were locked into any particular area/structure. Was out there again today, but just shore fishing this time and spotted a few beds even a male that was locked on a rock, chasing away bluegills that came near it. It's looking good!
  3. Bluegill color works for me on most lakes.
  4. +1 for FC Sniper I usually use InivizX til I switched to Sunline FC Sniper. A buddy recommended the Red label and swore it was just as good, but I'm never doing that again. I still use InvizX for my spinning gear, but FC Sniper for my casting setups.
  5. I was out yesterday as well. Caught them all on lipless crank and squarebils most along outside weedd lines in 4-8 ft of water. I came across a school of bluegills with a school of bass and I was able to catch 4 bass all back to back. All my fish came on Strikeking redeye bluegill and 2.5 bluegill. Lots of pike action keeping me busy as well.
  6. I just got into bass fishing this year, always fished as kid, but got busy with life, wife, and kids. I finally have time to get back into it and came across this forum. Nice to see a page that helps other fellow fishermen get on fish, but I know most will keep some secret spots to themselves. Anyways, the Fall bite is ON!! Sounds like Punch and I must live in the same area, since I seem to hit the same lakes to kill time. I'm still hunting for my 5+ lbs. Out to N&S Center tomorrow, Hopefully they are hungry
  7. Yes I think its worth it. I save quite a bit getting into open water this season. I got myself some poles for 50% off and reels about 35% off. Can't wait til this next one
