Well, I'm a student so I wanted to get buy with like 3 or 4 rods but screw it. I guess I'll just keep it an buy a lighter spinning rod set up and a heavier casting set up to fill in the gaps later.

You guys don't think the spinning rod and the MH casting set up are to overlapping?

I have a phenix m1 XH X- Fast 1-6 oz. casting rod for punching, a phenix M1 MH Fast 1/4 -3/4 oz casting rod for general purpose, and a Phenix Maxim M Fast 1/8 - 3/4 oz Spinning for finesse. Are the latter two too similar? They don't feel terribly different. I was thinking of maybe down grading the spinning real to a ML or L 1/8-1/2 oz (or maybe 3/8 oz). Or shall I upgrade the MH casting to a H (1/2-1 1/4 oz)? Or should I just buy another rod to bridge the gap between the light cast and the meat stick? Thanks!

Is it imperative to have a fast tip?

Right now im looking to set up my finesse rig and I really like the Phenix Maxims due to their affordability and reputation, not to mention they look sweet. I was wondering if the 6' 10" Medium Light with the mod fast tip would be good enough for drop shot with the slower tip and if it was too light for shakey heads. The lure weight says 1/8 to 1/2 oz. so it seems like it would be fine or should bump up to the next level which is a 7' 2" medium action with a fast tip with a lure weight of 1/8 to 3/4 oz, or would that be too heavy for drop shot. Trying not to buy two rods and I really like these. Thanks.
