Tubes
I'm looking forward to my first experience with the PROvider tubes that A-Jay always recommends. They in transit now. I've had really good success with Cabin Creek 2.5 inch tubes around here (central wi). Color wise any shades of green pumpkin, watermelon, or browns with various glitter colors.

Why I am a better ________ angler than you are!
There is no such thing as writing "too much." This is fishing! That was an excellent read for me, and anyone else who has no experience with dropshotting. I want to learn it next season, it's one of my biggest fishing goals. One question for you, tell me about the weights you use. Size, shape, what effects which you decide use, etc.

Rowley's Bay Door County
Happy new year, everyone! Does anyone have any experience on Rowleys bay in door county? It's a nice sized bay on the lake side of door peninsula. I've been there once on a guided trip and my same Friend and I are planning to go back in Spring (unless we find a better option) to do some smallmouth fishing. If anyone has good advice for there it'd be much appreciated!

Avid comparable to Cara T7?
Ah, I see. Well I know it's hard to go on pure word of mouth. I don't have any experience with Falcon rods so I can't compare them. All I know is how much I love my St Croixs. Theyre both very light and amazingly sensitive. The legend is a but higher end so it's a bit lighter and more sensitive. I use my LTB for everything finesse: tubes, worms, sebkos, craws, etc and it never fails to amaze me. It's easily my favorite rod. The legend tournament series has a 7' 1" MF rod .adequate for fishing plastics that would be a great t-rig rod.

I have 2 Avids and 1 legend tournament. You won't be disappointed. They're light and I they are very sensitive, especially the tournament. Honestly, the best thing you could do is go to a store and hold them and see how they feel in your hand.

Smallie Experts!
I'm a late arrival, but I fish shallow rivers too and stick to a handful of proven winners. My absolute go-to is a 1/8 or 1/4 oz confidence baits draggin head with tubes and sometimes craws. I also use "birds" from the same company. Others I use a lot are Mepps Aglia #3 in gold brown or white silver, 4" Husky jerks in various colors, 4" kalins grubs on 1/8 jig heads. I've had success with wacky rigged 4" stick baits (Yamamoto and yum) but haven't used them a lot. Getting vetter with that setup is goal of mine for next season. I know I'm way late with this but it's never too early to get excited for spring!

Smallmouth dropshot
I have no experience with dropshotting. What hooks and baits do you guys like? I fish a LOT of rivers, can it be effective in current? How about shallower water? I've also seen a lot of the 3 sinker options but no real pros and cons of the shapes.

Pick a baitcasting rod for me, please: Dobyns Saavy vs. Denali Kovert vs. G. Loomis E6X
I'll second the St Croix Avid. I have a 7' MH (mine is spinning) that can and does do it all. You can't beat their warranty service either. Now, mind you, I don't have experience with the others you mentioned, just sharing my experience with one in your price range.

Awesome tips, that's exactly what I wannam know. I spose I could get used to more memory eventually if it means a little less stretch.

Thanks for the input! I've heard good things about Big Game as well. Definitley gonna check it out. Berkley is pretty reputable all around by the sound of it.

What would you recommend for a mono? You clearly have more experience with variety than me. Personally, I don't like straight fluoro on my spinning reels but do use it a lot as a leader on braid. Stren has served me well and is inexpensive but it's fun to try new stuff.
