Lake Panasoffkee Florida
Nice job there lj....sorry I couldn't get back to ya on sat night, but obviously I didn't need to. Great job, you did better than we did. My boater and I were fishing the west side of the lake from Tracy's point to the river. Guess we shoulda ventured a bit further north. Sounds like your club was as satisfied with the lake as ours was. We will definitely be back as long as the water level holds out. Next stop for us is Crooked Lake in Polk County. If anybody can share some insight and reports on this lake it would be greatly appreciated. Tight Lines Everybody!!! Basslovr 8-)

Lake Panasoffkee Florida
18 members fished our tournament on saturday.....17 weighed in fish. Easily over 150 fish caught altogether. 1st and 2nd had the only limits with 8.08 and 8.04 respectively, I took third with 4 fish at 7.14. My biggest was 3.02. All of my keepers came on senko's in various hues of green (no two came on the same color) fished drifting over ell grass beds which are wide spread. Big fish of the tourney went 3.07. Most fish caught on Zara Spooks, senko's and trick worms. Cloud cover all day helped sustain the bite all day I believe. All in all a good day on a lake that few of us had ever fished. We will definitely be back, water conditions allowing.

Lake Panasoffkee Florida
Good luck...our club is fishing that lake the same day. I made the same post about a week ago and so far have not had much of a resonse. I think the lake was so bad for so long that noone has fished it in a long time. I heard that it was on the rebound but I guess the word has not spread yet. Maybe that will be good for our respective clubs. How many boats in your club? I think we have 10 or 11 in this tournament. 3 or 4 solos and the rest with angler and co-angler. If I don't hear back from ya, Good Luck and will probably see ya in passing on the water at some point. Tight Lines!!!! Basslovr

"Bass Maps"
From what I understand the gentleman used to live in St. Cloud but the phone number listed on the maps is not valid any more. Thanks for the tip about the state library.

"Bass Maps"
Can anyone tell me where to find a complete list and source of the series of maps called "Bass Maps" that were done by a gentleman named Mark Evans? I have seen some of these maps in tackle and bait stores but would like to find out if they are available for other lakes. I have seen Tarpon, Toho, Kissimmee, Harris Chain, etc. but was wondering about some of the smaller lakes in the state. Any info that can be shared would be greatly appreciated. Tight Lines!!! Rear drag vs front drag spinning reels
Thank you gentlemen, I certainly appreciate the input.....consequently, I guess I will just stick with my front drag spinning reel......"tried and true"...... So, now on to value for my money. I want to purchase another spinning reel and spend not more than $100. Anybody have any input on a good choice? Thanx again..... Tight Lines!!!!

Rear drag vs front drag spinning reels
Can anyone share advantages and disadvantages of rear drag reels? I have never used one and was just wondering if it is all just a preference thing or if there is a definite difference in performance? Thanx in advance..... Tight Lines!!!!!!

Harris - Kissimee - Central Florida Fishing Report
Fished Saturday tourney on Harris chain. Didn't do so well myself catching only one fish and that being only 12.5". Our winner only caught two totalling 6-10. Big fish was also 6-10, but that was the only one he caught. Most fish caught in canals off of Harris. Highlight of my day was having my Spro frog chased by an owl.......3 times. I thought owls were supposed to have good eye sight and be wise.....Don't think this one was.....Just hungry apparently. Maybe next time I'll do better. Tight Lines!!!

canals between chain lakes
Thank you sir, appreciate the info.

canals between chain lakes
Can anyone tell me the speed policy on canals between lakes in chain lakes such as Harris, Kissimmee, etc. Are all canals idle speed only no matter the length of the canal? My specific concern was the canal between Eusits and Griffin on the Harris Chain. That is a long canal and at idle speed would use quite a bit of valuable fishing time to connect to the other lake. Then again....How productive is that canal to fish? Thanks in advance for any input. Tight Lines!! 8-)

Harris Chain?
Well, thanx for the info on Apopka guys......What a shame.....hopefully the state will keep up the attempts to clean it up and it will return to it's previous reputation. Sorry to hear about your lack of production there ElGuapo, I certainly hope it is not that way next week when my club fishes there. Tight lines everybody!! 8-)

Harris Chain?
"The Central Florida Apopka Bass Club". Speaking of Apopka.....I have never heard of anyone talking about Lake Apopka.....Is this lake not a fishable lake.....It looks pretty sizeable on Google Earth......Why no chatter about this lake? I see lots of talk of John's Lake just to the south of it and lots of other lakes but never this lake.

Harris Chain?
Thanx for the info there Alger.....When mentioning Rattle traps, am I correct in assuming you are speaking of the standard chrome with blue or black back? Will definitely post results in the Harris and Kissimmee thread. Thanx again Tight lines!! 8-)

Harris Chain?

Lake June-in-Winter Florida
Lake June in Winter report: Fish were caught on worms and baby brush hogs......Gambler sweebo red bug worms skipped under docks fished wacky style....red bug trick worms fished behind secondary kissimmee grass lines fished texas rigged......watermelon red baby brush hogs also skipped under docks weightless.......no fish caught on any kind of hard baits......no topwater bite at all. Saw some beds that were still active in up to 5 to 6 ft of water. All in all good trip.....will go back again.....thanks again boca for the info......the water was way too low to make it into that small lake......didn't even go into the canals, there were plenty of docks on the main lake to keep us busy.

Lake June-in-Winter Florida
Thanks again Boca, if it is attached, I do believe we are talkin about the same little lake.....I heard from a friend of mine that has fished there before and he too said that it is a good place to start, but depending on the water depth it may be too shallow to push through for the boat I will be in. I'll just have to see when I get there.....thank you again for all the info...I'll let ya know how I do. Headin' out first thing in the a.m. Will be back home on Sunday evening.

Lake June-in-Winter Florida
Thanks again for the info sir.......That lake you mentioned on the southeast side.....is that accessible through lake june? On Google Earth I see a lake on the northeast side that is accessible through the big lake...it's called Lake Henry. Is this the one you are speaking of?
-
Lake June-in-Winter Florida
Thanks boca.....appreciate the info....I'll be in a good sized boat so pushin it through 1 to 2 feet of water is probably out of the question. You mentioned canals.....were those the ones on the north end or the south end.....or both? You also mentioned a pointer....is that the bait by Lucky Craft?
