  1. I have the big plug that looks like the 220V style. The wires from the battery to the plug are real heavy gauge and new as of last year. Thanks for the input everyone.
  2. My local motorguide dealer, said the motor was not made to run at 80 or 100% for more than a minute or two at a time. That seems like a bunch of BS to me.
  3. The TM is out of warranty, I think. I had a problem with it last fall and Motorguide wouldn't honor the warranty because I'm the 3rd owner and don't have the bill of sale from owner 1 to owner 2 to prove transfer. SOB's I guess I'll bring it to the shop and have them give me an estimate to repair. I wsa thinking of getting a terrova but don't want to shell out the $1,200 + right now. :-/
  4. HI I have a 24 V, 74 lb thrust Motor Guide TM that when run on speed level 4 for an extended period caused the green wire in the top unit to melt the insulation, melt through the white wire and short out as well as melt the plastic that the terminal connector was screwed into. The TM batteries are fairly new but they matched the outgoing batteries. Why would this happen and how should I fix it? Thanks. I fish in rivers alot so I really push the TM hard in current.
  5. Hi everyone ;D I've gotten pretty enthusiastic about bass fishing over the last few years. I've always fishing with spinning gear and have started to learn baitcasting since last year. I have been a bank fisherman and also went on guided smallouth trips on the Delaware river and wading in the Schuylkill for smallies. I've gotten several rods in the past year and am starting to feel like I have no rhyme or reason as to what I'm using each one for. I was wondering if I could go through them and get suggestions as to what I still need and what rod/reels to use for various applications. I will be getting a small bass tracker this year to do some river and lake fishing. I enjoy just about every application of bass fishing: top water, frogs, Senkos, tubes, other plastics, spinnerbaits and some crankbaiting, jerkbaits and soft plastic jerk baits for smallies. Pfleuger Medalist Rod/reel combo rod is IK-8 graphite, 6'6" medium action 6-12 lb line. It is my favorite spinning rod at this time. Have 8 lb Yozuri hybrid and tend to use it for Senko's tubes and other soft plastics. Okuma Avenger reel with a 6' 6" Shimano Solara graphite rod Medium power, fast action spooled with 8lb yozuri hybrid. Was thinking of using this mostly for crank baits. Okuma Avenger reel with a 6'6" cortland ctr1000 graphite rod. Medium action - kind of noodly. I recently bought this rod on the recommendation of a local fishing shop but think the rod might be too wimpy. Only casught 1 bass on it so far but maybe it would be a good tube rod for smallie fishing. Shimano supertuned Citica 201D spooled with 14lb vanish or Trilexe XL. Rod is a St Croix triumph, 6'6" medium heavy, fast action rod. 3/8 - 1 oz lures. I tend to use this for spinnerbaits and jerk baits or bigger cranks. I jsut ordered a new curado 101d of of ebay for $150 and need to buy a rod for it. I was considering the Powell 683C that was reviewed on tackletour http://www.tackletour.com/reviewpowell683cxfast.html but thought, I need to figure out what I need first! Any help is greatly appreciated. Chris
