If I trim the threads will I have problems if I put a different reel on it? or are they pretty much a standard size?

Im going to build a rod with the FP-885 blank, but I'm not sure of the sizes I need for some things. What size reel seat should i get? Hey guys I have another question about the grips. How do you ream the butt grip? Does it go all the way through and then you out on an end cap like cork?

When you put on the Winn grip handles can you just push/force them on like eva foam, or do you have to ream them like cork?

I have an older Ranger. It is a great boat but it is dual console, so the rod locker is only 6'6". Most of my rods won't fit. I have been just putting them on the deck, but they get in the way. Do you guys have any ideas on how/where to store them?
