Checked regulations, I'm good the minnows were trapped out of my personal pond as well. Those suckers make a good bait for picky bass, just gonna play it by ear and see if they breed

i trapped some shiners out of a pond to keep in a livable to use as bait in the future. does anyone have any experience with this? also what do they eat?!

caught my pb bass the same way, line snapped on a big fish near some structure. rigged up again and casted to the same spot and hauled a 6-7 pound beast with the senko and part of my line still attached

can you fish a regular pad crasher (bobbing or walking the dog) in just regular open water? I've heard it looks more natural then popping versions but I've also heard that you should only fish them in thick vegetation. Is it pointless to fish in just plain ol open water?

can you fish regular walk the dog style frogs in open water?

i can't seem to find an answer to fit my needs so i decided to narrow it down a little. I fish ponds with little to no vegetation on the water and i usually fish poppin style frogs and baits (EX poppin pad crasher and Spittin wa) can i get away with using monofilament??? if so what pound test!

EDIT: i keep getting mixed replies (mono vs braid) I usually fish ponds with little to no water vegetation. There are just so many different things that go into the fishing line you buy. The thing is i only have one rod (abu garcia black max) spooled with some 10 or so pound mono. Ive only caught a few frog fish and am wanting to really get into it this summer. But with the fact that have one rod i need to find a line that is universal between soft plastics frogging and hardbaits which may be impossible. If i get braid the fish might see it, if i get mono the stretch will lose fish when frogging. And even if i go with mono it has to be under 15 pounds cause thats all my real can take I just don't even know what to do
