  1. The Metanium is the standard ratio. I also have a Chronarch ci4+ coming that I think is going on the IMX Spinnerbait rod. I love the look of the Calcutta, but it just does not feel right to me...it is actually listed for sale.
  2. It's a 201B...I am pretty sure that is what is going on there. That or a Metanium that should be here Tuesday.
  3. I'm interested in this too. Mine should be getting here Tuesday.
  4. Yeah, I saw that. I had to draw the line somewhere...lol.
  5. Thanks. I actually went with a G Loomis GLX crankbait rod. I have other spinning setups (Sustain w/ GLX MH/F) and enjoy fishing light/ultralight on occasion.
  6. Yep. American Legacy handles G Loomis the same way.
  7. Something comforting about the way accidental damage is handled by St. Croix and G. Loomis. Knowing that if I shut a $400 rod in the car door the most it will ever cost me to have it replaced is $100 helps me justify the expense.
  8. Just makes me realize how expensive hobbies have gotten and how fortunate I am to be able to afford them.
  9. Jesus...puts my last couple purchases into perspective.
  10. I love St. Croix rods and the company in general, but I would go NRX. In my opinion G Loomis has the edge in the upper end of their line ie; GLX and NRX. I always felt that St. Croix had the edge in the middle/lower tier of their lines ie; Avid and Premier. However I took out a G Loomis E6X for the first time yesterday and was really impressed.
  11. Light and medium crankbait rod.
  12. Ballin' on a budget...lol
  13. First trip out with my new Curado 201i and G Loomis e6x 783c Mag Bass...
  14. Absolutely no clue. It is not extra stock because the one I already received was shipped directly from Shimano to me. I just know it is a smoking deal. They are also selling IMXs for ~$200 before the $25 discount. I have a Chronarch ci4 that will be arriving Tuesday that was begging for the GLX I just ordered...lol
  15. Only two...lol. But it has been a struggle everyday. I just know that if worse comes to worse I can unload them for about what I am paying. I have seen plenty of used GLX's go for $250+
  16. Haha...I am about to buy another.
  17. Haha...good for you man. You will enjoy it...it is a fine rod.
  18. I would go with just what you are looking at...the 853c - Medium/Heavy. But, if your budget is comfortable to $300 I would go with the GLX... https://www.*.com/G-Loomis-GLX-Jig-Worm-853C-p/gloomis-glx-853cjwr.htm?e=Y
  19. Nice rod, but * has it for the same price and you can get another $25 off, free shipping, no tax... https://www.*.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=G%2DLoomis%2DIMXBassCast%2DJWR&e=Y https://www.*.com/join_mailing_list_a/398.htm
  20. I just spooled my new Ultra-light setup with White 6lb Sufix 832 braid. Feels nice...we'll see how it fishes.
  21. I posted them in this thread:
  22. Boom! Got my GLX 783 Jig/Worm today. Such a good deal I am tempted to order another.
  23. I love the performance of upgraded bearing, but hate the sound. I have tried both Hawgtech ABEC 7s and Boca Orange Seal ABEC 7s in both my Calcutta 201B and Curado 201i. While they both perform awesome, they are loud and don't feel quite as smooth as with the factory bearings. Does anyone make a bearing with the performance of the ABEC 7s I have tried and the quietness/smoothness of the OEM bearing?
