I'm a fellow 'Nole that just returned here after 15+ years and I'm just getting back to fishing in the area. I have had luck off highway 20 heading west. It has a few boat ramps and piers that you can fish Lake Talquin. Carr Lake on Meridian Rd. has a boat ramp and a dock you can fish from. Not a great deal of room but I have caught fish there on senkos in the last two weeks. Lake Jackson also has an are behind Shucker's oyster bar off US 27 that you can fish. Get some decent polarized glasses any you may be able to see them on bed during the next month. This time of year the big ones are coming in to spawn. I had luck during the evening last weekend on Jackson. It was overcast and they were chasing top water baits like frogs. More than likely, I'll be on Jackson this Saturday.
