thanks, mine is 9ft, but almost that old. was thinking about a new paint scheme, but knowing krylon plastic works makes me happy. i agree. I added an anchor system for like 4 bucks at walmart and an 8 lb mushroom. Big wind will still blow you around, so no anchor would be horrible

Anyone painted theirs yet? Any ideas on the best paint to use? My Bass hunters is a dingy black/grey two tone, and really want to make it sharp.

Is there any rough guidelines on how long a battery will run a 30lb TM? I don't have a battery box with a meter yet, I have been out for well over 4 hours before, but I was thinking of an all day trip Sat. I won't run it all the time, but anyone have any experience. Dual Purpose Exide battery from Academy.

Thanks TommyX I did. Picked it up yesterday. No holes, was one spot that was already fixed very well. He had modded two drain plugs already. He had actually already put down plywood and instead of the sliding seats he installed perm 13 inch pedestals into the plywood. With two seats and the full thing it is kinda heavy, not sure if I like that, but I can always by the normal seat mounts if I don't like them once on the water. Once I get it washed up I will post some pics.

Anyone had any experience with the Bass Hunter EX? It is 9'6 so almost as long as the pelican. Was going to get a new pelican, but found a great deal on the BH with trailer, Depth Finder, and TM for less then the new Pelican.

Question for your guys who have made platforms or lined the bottom with plywood/carpet. Do you seal the plywood with anything before you carpet it? Or is the chance of it getting wet enough to matter really slim?

hey guys, Great thread! I am going to go out and buy a boat this weekend. I have both Academy and Rural King in driving distance. So here is my question. Is the 10ft Pelican $200 better than the 8ft Sun Dolphin. 90% of the time I will be solo. the wife and kid may join me the first time or 2, but as the novelty wears off, they will quit. I could buy the Trolley Motor, Battery and Box for the $200 I could save. Thoughts? Jon
