  1. Glad to hear it! Sounds like a great day. Definitely going to be thinking twice about running that stretch in my kayak. Just for the record. The big boy that was stalking you was well east of the bridge correct? I likely wouldn't get to far past that bridge anyway. What did yoy catch em on today mainly? Just curious. Thanks for the post once again. Thinking about heading out there this sat.
  2. Thanks for the advice. Wish I wouldve seen this prior to my trip this morning. Hit up the same stretch as a couple of weeks ago and it was a completely different day. Biggest problem for me was the wind. 15-20 ESE was too much of a struggle for me in my kayak that doesn't have foot pedals. Aside from that fishing was very slow this morning. Fished 630-930 and only had 3 largemouth all under a pound. One on each of the following (swim jig, senko, and swimbait) no consistency. Water levels still low but couldnt find what they wanted today. Threw hb frog, lipless crackbait and a buzz bait but nothing going today. Gators were out in full effect and aggresive but only to one another. Then again it is that time of year for them. Left me alone as usual thankfully. Hope yall had better luck. Will give MM39 a try either tomorrow or next weekend. Thanks for the advice. Good luck out there.
  3. Thanks for the post Geo. Went out on the alley (mile marker 35) on my kayak Saturday the week prior. Very similiar conditions with less wind however, hovering around 10 from the WNW. Was out from 7-11. Threw some top water in the morning (frogs, buzz bait, popper) with little success. Decided to switch it up and swim a jig and had a bit better success. Eventually switched to old faithful (soft plastics) and started with a 5 in. Grass pig swimbait in watermelon and the bite turned in immediately. Fish were mostly in the one to one and a half range. With the exception of one that likely went 4 pounds. I never switched off the swimbait the rest of the day which I had in 4 different colors. All produced same results and the bite kept on. Ended the day around 20 in total with only 1 oscar which I was pumped about. Ive been out there plenty of times where my I couldnt manage to catch anything but junk fish. Great day all in all. Heading back out this Saturday for round two. Will report back. Good luck out there!
