just wanted to get everyone's opinion. So often I will go fishing with friends and they will help themselves to my tackle that I keep on my boat. It kind of irritates me because they are perfectly capable of buying there own lures. What is everyone's take on this?

All different kinds. High end plastics too. It casues the lid to warp and will even melt the bottom of the box if left in there long enough. Ive had numerous boxes have this happen to. Go and watch Glennn's video on bag or box where he goes into taking about this very problem with storing soft plastics in plano boxes. Also google storing soft plastics in plano boxes causing warping, as numerous others have experienced the same problem.

So I recently purchased a Grumman aluminum boat, and gave it a overhaul. I rebuilt all new decks, gave it a fresh coat of paint and got it all ready for this upcoming season. I added storage compartment in the front and back decks for all my tackle. The only issue that i have noticed is that when in the rain, water leaks into the comparments. I was wondering if anybody had any tips or suggestions that have worked for them. Thanks for all your help.

i usually store all mine in the bags that they came in as the plastics have a chemical in them that ruins plano boxes. the softener in them will cause the boxes to bend and deform from leaking onto box and ultimately causing the box to be garbage. will be having to replace them after a few years of use.
