I just went fishing today and a bass dove and broke my line > I'm going to put some 8lb line on tomorrow but I have never done it before...when I take off my old line, will there be something I need to thread my line through on the reel (spinning reel) after I put it through all the guides?

if you can see a bass, can it see you? if so, will it still take your bait or are they like trout and swim away?

General rule of thumb i use is once it starts getting colder start using live bait instead of plastics, the bass try to fatten up and will eat whatever seems more fattening to them.
