on slow creeks i use a rebel teeny wee crawfish and i catch all kinds of fish... if you have a fly rod, fish black wooly buggers and small poppers in pockets of still water near the banks

Buy the smallest shrimp you can find at the supermarket, they work extremely well for me. (Also if you live nearby an Asian food market, they will have really shrimpy smelling dried grass shrimp skins.) If the bluegill are stocked where you live, corn can be a killer.

What do you guys recommend. The only reel i have that'll handle big fish is a shimano sahara 4000FB that is laying around in my room...i think it should be adequate, but i'm not sure. However, I only have ultra light and light action rods... What would you guys recommend for a rod? I'm willing to spend around 100 buckaroos on it. I am open to any suggestions about reels, combos etc. (ps i will be fishing from a point at the mouth of a bay and maybe off my friend's dock and will use bunker, clam and live killies as bait)

from my experience with golf course ponds buzzbaits, senkos, and live night crawlers work well. I would also bring some zoom lizards and horny toads in case the pond is not a well kept golf course style pond (meaning lots of vegetation around)

I second this, fried panfish are delicious! I never had bass before but I've heard they are horrible eating...catch and release is the way to go.

Hey guys I've heard a couple of entertaining stories of how people catch bass on weird and interesting lures...my curiosity has been piqued. The weirdest for me is when one of my friends cut off a strap from a jock-strap wacky rigged it and caught a 1.5lb bass. I have personally caught bluegill and bass with jellybellys too. What have you guys caught on weird bait?

i fuse them back together soak it in rubbing alcohol for 5 min then rinse it for a minute and then i put them in a ziploc bag and then throw salt in there. attractants sound like a good idea though...gonna try that

i've caught carp on peas and corn boiled in honey/a tiny bit of lemon water...i have caught carp on a cheese ball before but since that, the cheese only gets me catfish...

i'm a little curious how you got a tree into the middle of a lake... bass cover a lot of water when they feed, the bass may start hanging around your tree sooner than you expect...just depends on where their food goes now
